Data counted in 10Mb chunks. How can companies get away with that these days?

    • +1

true. so if you're 1KB over, they'll count it as 10MB.
      ?!?!?!??!

Please will people stop saying "My first post, please be a nice.. =)". There's an icon next to your name that indicates its your first post. Beyond that, you'll be judged on the merits of the deal.

    FWIW I think it's a decent deal.

"Data is counted in 10MB increments and includes uploads and downloads" — This sucks.

    • Modem is locked to the Optus network for 12 months from activation unless you recharge to a minimum $100. Click here for full Terms and Conditions.

What modem is this? A Huawei of some sort? Worth listing model to see if free or cheap unlock can be found online.

  • any idea how long the 5gb will last?

    • depend, how use it? web browsing only? almost never finish in 30days =)

      • I was referring to when expires, thanks for the reply tho:)

  • What's the expiry period on the 5GB data? 30 days? I couldn't find it on their, or Boost Mobiles website.

  • same item on eBay shows
'Includes 5GB (valid for 30 days from activation date)
Only available in Boost/Optus dual band (2100/900MHz) coverage areas'

  • Bought 4, for my neighbors too

    • At this price I'd be tempted to pick up a few as well but I still haven't even activated 2 of the Virgin modems I bought with 5Gb data a couple months ago from Coles.

i would get it for the site didnt look so dodgy

  • Site is a mess.
No credit card, they redirect you to paypal, while sending an email saying not to pay until they add a 3% fee.

    • isn't it against paypal policy to charge a fee for using paypal?

    • I paid via my Paypal balance & it only took out $19, no extra fee….

  • Good price, assuming customer service and delivery is good.

  • Good find OP! and good first post.

  • Bettered by this if you don't need/want the modem & just after the data: 5GB with 45 day expiry, 1MB chunks, for $15.50 - courtesy of debo (nice find!) here:

placed order and takes 6 days to ship the order, very slow, not happy, now it's 8 days after the order been shipped, still haven't received anything yet,

  • Thanks @aboutconfig for reporting this post. Upon investigation OP (deal_hunter) appears to be affiliated with the store (PCCAUS.com), hence his comment here would sound like sockpuppeting.

Since this post has generated some discussions I'll leave it here.

    • I still haven't received anything since placed the order and paid on 8th Nov. Went to the local post office twice and nothing. This seller is scammer.
