AMEX: No Annual Fee on MyUS.com Premium (Save $80 + Cheaper Shipping)
This was posted 1 year 5 months 29 days ago, and might be an out-dated deal
Just saw this on Amex's website. Free joining fee, joining fee and cheaper shipping. Only works if you join with an Amex card.
I'm pretty sure this works out cheaper than any current mail forwarding service right now.

blablabla23 on 25/11/2011 - 23:21 ¶not just the price, but also for the designs. Some are one-off designs which are never imported into Australia.
alwayseric on 26/11/2011 - 08:28 ¶skis, for example. too many you can choose from their online shops. more options and much lower prices.
you think ebay is better than the combinaton of ALL those retailers inclding amazon? it is naive.
SpaceNinja on 25/11/2011 - 21:46 ¶Its really annoying when you find something on amazon and then its says, Sorry can't ship to your location.
This can probably be used then if its not against amazon terms.
yes, really annoying.. i can understand if its big but this: http://www.amazon.com/Grimmspeed-Boost-Control-Solenoid-Suba...

SpaceNinja on 25/11/2011 - 21:53 ¶Its true. seems like a total rip-off even after 30% discount.

+1 voteNot sure about that. I recently had a Shark handheld Vac shipped through MyUS, and shipping worked out to about $60 via DHL. The shipito quote gives TNT as the cheapest at around $60 as well, but that's before shipito's fees.
For the record, the package weighed about 9lb.
Maybe it doesn't scale well at the lower weights, since there's no USPS option, but for heavier items and package consolidation I think MyUS works out better.

However their problem is still the shipping cost is too high.
Are these prices from the MyUS shipping calculator? In which case you'd need to knock 30% off that for this deal, for starters.
The second is, you have to compare Apples to Oranges. If you're using USPS for Shipito and then comparing it to DHL/Fedex courier then that's unfair. With USPS you will most likely have no tracking number, rough handling, handballing to Australia Post and the possibility of your parcel being lost. Whereas with either of the courier companies it's door to door and you have a LOT more peace of mind, which some might think worth paying for if they've experienced losses before.

Does that mean they won't ship Alienware computers?

This might help.

Im at the signup page, i used my AMEX card in the Billing Info section, but it still wants to charge me $20 signup and $60 membership….

My cayman cost close to 200k with options and rego. It was a bit gauling reading about guys in the US complaining about them costing 50k. Even if you converted it to rhd, you still need to have it complianced before you can register in Australia. Also you would be up for a ton of customs and luxury car tax when importing it.
The car industry is much more protected than the local book and music distributors.
