Slide To Unlock on 15/12/2011 - 17:20 ¶just got one today , oddly enough their catalogue states $135 http://catalogues.officeworks.com.au/portal/dynamiccatalogue...
ROFLrobert on 16/12/2011 - 02:44 ¶Also states quote:"Printed for 15/12/11. Prices may change after the catalogue has been printed."
The deal is fresh, probably be able to pop by the store and ask.

Using the receipt posted by coolndeep, i managed to get this player for $84.95 from JB.

samfisher5986 on 15/12/2011 - 21:01 ¶What do you mean?
Are you saying the previous models couldn't play above a certain bitrate?
Would that mean some bluray rips wouldn't play?

I just looked on there internet now and cannot find anything about it not being able to play full bluray rips.
I remember reading lots on the internet about older models not being able to play over approx 25Mbps+ 1080p rips. But I cannot find them anymore. Perhaps this is all fixed with the newer releases. Or my remembrance is an illusion.

samfisher5986 on 15/12/2011 - 23:07 ¶So it seems a straight rip from bluray without compression has stuttering in some movies?
peterlong1952 on 15/12/2011 - 20:56 ¶I got one when Dick Smith had them on sale. They will play 1080p but only on ethernet. Tried wireless and video stalls about 5 seconds in. Good device for the money.
sonicentropy on 15/12/2011 - 21:17 ¶Mine plays 20gig MKV over Ethernet but shags out over wifi even with my dualband netgear N 300m router only 4 meters + wall. Real world wifi speeds don't come close to their so called wireless speeds. End result is watching high bitrate HD over wifi is like trying to push Lego through a straw
+1 voteIn my experience the earlier WDTV would not play files downloaded using iview napper without a remux due to the variable frame rates, which is painful if you have to do it on every file. Better off with a cheap HTPC with XBMC or similar that does a lot more for only a little more. See my forum post for what I did.

samfisher5986 on 16/12/2011 - 07:08 ¶I really don't see how HTPC's are comparable.
One can fit in a large pocket, one can't.
+1 votesonicentropy on 16/12/2011 - 07:33 ¶i have both and they complement each other, WD in the bedroom and HTPC with 4 tuners + Austar recording in living room, all my iview rips are transcoded by the HTPC and play perfectly on my WDlive

Has anyone tried to get it with the receipts from this thread for $84.50
http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/58134The receipts are over two weeks old, they might not accept the price match now. Anyone willing to try. Here is a link to both receipts

http://postimage.org/image/7owxmyxc9/If you get it for this price or close please post a scan or photo of your receipt. If no one does it by Tuesday I'll try and go into OfficeWorks with the two scans above and hope they don't worry about the date and will post a scan of my recipt.
