    tempting.
Poor in store sign tho hehe 50% off $699 aint $399 :)

    • Lol just realised. Just got one for myself as well. Heaps of stock left.

  • If it's 50% off it should be $349~~~

  • anyone managed to pricematch this?

  • I got one of these from JB a few weeks ago for $644, and they wouldn't budge a dollar on the price.

    • +7

      Ouch.

      • +3

Was for work - they paid :D

        • +3

          lol win

  • The receipt guys. From experience I don't think other stores will match this low so I think your best bet is to come into store and get it http://upload.ozbargain.com/2012/01/03/7516_img_20120104_110…

  • $399 is a pretty good price, it was only a few weeks ago the standard wifi-only version was this price.

    • +1

the wifi version was $299 xmas special from Retrovision. the 3g version was $399 same price so its a good deal.

      • The price of the 32GB non-3G model is back to $398 at Retravision.

        • I think it's the same price as Costco. I saw it last week

  • dwi was selling at this price a few weeks ago.

    • I was told this is australian stock btw, isn't the dwi one grey?

Strange, who is Siti Aishah? Does clicking any of the links on this page allow us to access someone else's account?

    • crap. their system is very bad. I got other customer name too "Gunadi Setiawan"

      • lol.. i saw gunadi address

    • The ozbargain mod didn't strip the sid from the URL… It's probably the moderators account.

      • +3

so one of the mods is an Indonesian?

        • Not a moderators account. It was the original link posted in 1 of the comments and removed some of the URL for privacy purposes. Still a bit dodgy that other people's account details come up.

good deal. same deal as retrovision over xmas. Good deal then and good deal now.

would you pay $100 extra for the 3g version? I would pay $349 for the 3g but $399 prob not, when I can use my phone as a personal wifi hotspot.

this has been discussed many time (non 3g vs 3g). i personally regretted buying non 3g ipad. also i have few friends felt the same. yes i know tethering but then you sacrifice your phone battery and convenient factor, etc.

      • +1

life is full of compromising. if your money were unlimited, the answer would be apparent.

        • Yeah for iPad. To get the 3G version, it costs heaps more. So tethering is an alternative for those who don't want to spend more money on it.

      • id rather drain the power on one device vs my phone and ipad wifi. Wish I had gotten the 3g model

  • $1 less here. and free delivery australia-wide.

    http://www.wireless1.com.au/MOTOROLA-XOOM-3G-WIFI-32GB.html

    • It's 50 bucks more expensive and not free delivery.

      • odd…their email sent out was $398 including free delivery. i can bounce it to whoever wants it.

        from their email:

I presume you need to be a member of their "members club" (which I think is free)

      • Hurry Less Than 5 Left!!

        • 1 left now! Quick!!

          (Sorry just kidding) LOL

      • This is not 3G. its just the Wifi version

  • How much does their font, at top of page, remind you of Harvey Norman??

So XOOM 2 will be released no wonder the price dropped. ;P
Btw, should I wait for Samsung Galaxy TAB 10" ?

    • xoom 2 is mediocre, too.

  • just bought one

  • Very tempting but don't need one.

  • Called JB-HIFI in Brisbane City for a price match. Was told to print out the web page and they'll match it. When I got there, they denied and said they couldn't do it. what a freaking liar!

    • same here. was told that they were unable to price match as it is way below cost. the salesman also said that the receipt shown to them is grey import. is the onlinecomputer stock grey import? I can see GST on the receipt

      • GST not necessarily means oz stock. but I called online computer and the sales assistant did confirm theirs are australian stock…

      • australian stock, no grey import :)

        • Hmmm. Be careful on the specs. The website didn't advise what frequency it is. If it's indeed Australian stock and from Australia then it'll be 850MHz (Telstra NextG) capable and not just say HSDPA.

It's a great price regardless! But I have the feeling it could be a grey import as I haven't seen any other retailer massively reduce their pricing.

    • None of them could match the $299 WiFi model a while back as well.

    • +2

got a call from the store manager and she thinks they should have done the price match and gives me $25 voucher for my trouble.

  • Cannot find out if it works with Telstra NextG or Vodafone new 850mhz network :-(

  • +1

Vodafone have had this price for their outright purchaes. When I spoke to one of the shops (Mac centre NSW), they said they can do it for 370.

Apparently since this is a GED, it cannot be locked so all models at Voda should be unlocked too (to be checked).

    K.

    • wow $370 is great price

    • +1

      Awaiting for the link :)

    • +1

called vodafone. they do have it for $399. you can simply go to any vodafone store and buy it outright. It is software lock which can be unlocked. Then it's up to you to bargain with the store for a better price. Good luck

  • I cannot find any outright price in Vodafone website, but it seems it has 3G 850mhz

    • It is standard for the XOOM 2G/3G version

  • Could someone please confirm the model number for their stock?

Curious to see if it's australian and supports 850/NextG.

    Thanks!

    • +1

      australian stock and support 850

  • Very tempted. Is this pre-loaded with Android 3.2 or 3.1? Can I assume 3.1 is free upgradeable to 3.2?

    • +1

32GB WiFi Xoom I bought from HN just before Xmas came with 3.2 pre-installed.
If this has 3.1 installed, it should be upgradeable to 3.2 over the air for free.
Also Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) is currently being tested by Motorola, and should be downloadable for the Xoom over the air in the next 6 to 8 weeks… one of the main reasons why I bought this.

  • By the way, it says unlocked, but unlocked from which carrier?

  • want

  • Can anyone recommend a good case for these?

    • Just get the Xoom portfolio case, works very well. Some reviews said that you have to open the cover to charge, but the newer batches have a cut out to expose the charging socket, so it's all good.

  • So, $399 is the best price at the moment it seems. How about $379 from Vodafone, is it still on?

    • Nope. Tried but no luck. Good luck if you can save the extra $20 though…

    • It was not a special. It was Vodafone at Macquarie Centre. The chick there said that they can do 379 or around that price if I wanted to buy it. She asked me first if I was a Vodafone customer.

I don't think you can see the outright price or the 12 months contract plans. They are only sold in store.

I think this is a really good price though. I bought my Wifi only not long ago for 350 from DWI.

      K.

  • Are these still available ? if so how many are left? thanks

  • What size is the phone/data card for this?

  • +1

Voda hotline support cant tell if it is lock and how much is the unlock fees. Trying using voda unlock website by the salespeople in the shop using the imei etc also no success. Macquarie ctr Jbhifi has the 32gb NON 3g listed for $600 Over. When i asked if the price is right, he said yes. Then i said voda selling for cheap $399. He then checked his device, "ow.. it is down to $580 now". you may want to get it from voda". I walked out.

    • That idiot knew nothing obviously. 600 over, indeed…

  • JB dropped the price over night, wifi version is now $396 and 3G $597. Yesterdays was still $644, anyway they had no problem matching $399 and also discounted the portfolio case, so got from JB instead. Also there's no credit card surcharge, better that way to get an extra year of purchase warranty covered by the card.

    • Can you pls scan and post the receipt here?

  • These guys in Adelaide, allbiz matched $399 for me when I emailed and even got a 3gig 3G data vodophone sim for $29. They had stock. http://allbizsupplies.biz/layouts/whats_new_content/NB-M-XOO…

  • I believe the WiFi version of these are now in process of getting Ice Cream Sandwich at moment. Should be arriving on my Acer 3g version soon too.
