About Selling on OzBargain
This is the Selling and Swapping forum on OzBargain, and here are some guidelines:
- This is strictly for personal use only — trading or swapping between members. If you are a business and you have a good bargain to promote, please post them as deals.
- Please be descriptive about the item you wish to sell, in the same way that you would have listed them on eBay. For example,
- Price
- Detailed description of the item, i.e. brand, model number, new/used, condition, etc.
- Location of the item
- Payment method
- Feel free to use the File Uploader to upload images of your items, and then paste the link back here.
- Once the item has been sold, please prefix your subject line with '[Sold]'
- Please also enable your contact form (by clicking on "Edit" in your profile page) if you wish other members to communicate with you via email.
Note that OzBargain does not protect the seller nor the buyer but just acts as a market place so please beware the potential risk dealing with other members here (sorry have to make this clear).
pearldrops on 20/04/2009 - 20:08 ¶if i list my items on eBay, does it mean its qualify to list in this selling forum?
just want to make sure i dont breach any of ozbargain policy?Pearl
spawnpoint on 14/06/2011 - 12:18 ¶just want to ask, if we trade and seller is a fraud, are you able to provide ip address, location etc if the matter is reported to the police?
realfamilyman on 16/02/2012 - 10:31 ¶Um… How do I prefix the subject line with '[Sold]'? I've listed a gift voucher for sale, and someone has now purchased this. But I can't find how to edit the subject line of my original post!?
realfamilyman on 16/02/2012 - 12:32 ¶Hm… I must be thick - I can't see any yellow bar. There's the usual orange one right at the top with "Ozbargain, Submit, Deals, Live, etc." Then further down the page there's a "Share this discussion" box with a facebook icon… and to the right, there's the "New Forums" and "Who's online" boxes.
Unless you mean when you click "My Account" at the top - and then click on "Posts"… There is an edit button there, but that doesn't allow to edit the post either.

Maybe I didn't explain it very well. I've just uploaded this:

From the image, where it shows a forum post, there is a 'view' and then 'edit'. Are you able to see it for your forum post?
realfamilyman on 16/02/2012 - 19:37 ¶Hm… No, I don't see those. Here's a partial screen capture of what I see:
+1 voteThere's current an edit limit on the forum posts — OP can no longer edit the text after 12 days. We don't have any plan to change that as it would affect other posts as well. However in the future if you wish to have things changed after the editing has been locked, please use Report to request a change by the moderators.
