    well that's an interesting promo.

  • FOXTEL feeling some Internet TV pains at the moment?

They've always had deals of getting a $100-200 discount if you sign up a friend. I'm guessing they've just worked out an arrangement with Air New Zealand to get discount flights for a similar price.

    • So I guess it doesn't count if they sign up to the $10 Sport package on the Xbox?

      • I'm guessing no lol. And isn't that on top of the $20 Get Started package?

Hopefully Foxtel will have nothing to do with the in-flight entertainment, or else it will just be 4 hours of commercials.

Once again, people in perth get screwed.

to me FOXTEL is over priced in Australia. After having it for many years in US I decided not to have it in here because of too high price. If it comes around same price as in US, people would buy it without thinking much. I too had it in US even though I hardly watch things. However in here it comes at a price that you have to think a lot about it's worth before buying it.
Still if you are going to have it, this is a pretty good deal.

How did you get FOXTEL in the US?

    Foxtel is a rip off.

Pay tv with just as much ads as free to air, repetitive content, and overpriced addons.

But they are definitely hurting… I got a free upgrade to Foxtel HD with IQ, and a free addon (sports or movies) for $44 when I first rang up to cancel. When it came time to renew again, they offered the same deal and I still said no. They cant even give it away at the moment…. $44 buys me a lot of rental blurays and dvd's a month (new releases at $2, weeklies at $1), and the rest of the programs I used to watch on Foxtel are on free to air anyway. Just different ads ;).

I still cant understand how people are supposed to pay for television that also has as many ads as the free product.

    • Agreed that a lot of what is there is junk. It does however have a much better sport viewing offering than FTA tv.

Sports. Would pay 3x if I had to because I need my sports fix.

  • So no flights from Perth?
