The "NEW IPAD" at BigW from $498 This Friday!
This was posted 1 year 2 months 4 days ago, and might be an out-dated deal
Was in at BigW today and got these prices. They were pretty open about prices which was good. They had this leaflet out on the counter, so to prove that this does not belong in the forums!

-2 votesNitroNinja on 14/03/2012 - 19:51 ¶Wait, aren't there shops that will beat prices, for example, by 5%?
Dammit, I can't think of one… I remember there are quite a couple…
+2 votesNitroNinja on 14/03/2012 - 19:53 ¶Oh, that's right, Office Works, as LoopyLou stated. "We'll beat it by 5%"
EDIT: nvm, OW doesn't sell ipads, unfortunately
brocky2006 on 14/03/2012 - 20:03 ¶u can sometimes get JB to beat the price, depends on the sales guy
+1 votestonedewok on 14/03/2012 - 20:28 ¶I think I remember reading on WP that Apple stores have a policy to match any advertised price…they're just not very open about it.
You ask the staff about their "Best Price policy" or something like that??
Can anyone confirm this?
warwick108 on 14/03/2012 - 20:43 ¶i have personally tried to price match and apple will price match
however lets say if kogan has 15% off ipads then apple will only do 10% MAX
=)
+1 voteYes - I can confirm. DSE were doing 10% of all Apple but did not stock the MacMini in my local store. I went to the Apple store, and asked. The guy said no problem once he could confirm the DSE 10% off. He went to the website, saw the advert and went yep, no bother. $899 MacMini for $800. I was and still am happy about that.
On a side note, I also jumped on the NetPlus 4gb sticks of RAM for $20 so upgraded the MacMini for 8gb. I also like how the MacMini supports dual monitors so I have it hooked up to two 23' Dell IPS monitors - which I also snagged for $210 each thanks to OZB!
Pretty sweet setup for $1200.
Anyways - back to the topic.

realsniper09 on 14/03/2012 - 20:01 ¶Great of them to have it lower than RRP.
They'd sell out of them no matter what price they give, and to put it less than RRP is a great effort.
+2 votesWhen they first released ipad 2 it was also lower than rrp.
See this post: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/41747
+3 votesheathsouter on 14/03/2012 - 21:40 ¶yep, i lined up and got one at the launch last time. left early from work for "an important appointment"
+2 votes4g component of the new ipad is incompatible with telstras new 4g network for obtaining 4g speeds

+1 votegreydaniel on 14/03/2012 - 21:25 ¶and if you have Telstra 3g you will be able to use the new Ipad dual band feature and it will be pretty bloody quick anyway.

Which standards are those again?

greenlantern on 15/03/2012 - 09:01 ¶Ditto, especially since it cost 698$ for the 64 gb 3G version :)
NitroNinja on 14/03/2012 - 20:08 ¶Good News Everyone! If BIGW was to advertise this publicly, and the rest of Harvey Normal "Best Price Guarantee" conditions, provided here: http://www.harveynorman.com.au/customer-service/best-price-g...
Then, I think we can get it cheaper! - That's if Harvey Norman doesn't find a bullshit excuse, like most times. I've read through the conditions, and it seems that most of the criteria is met; other than that it is not yet advertised by BIGW themselves.
But if we trust the OP, then hopefully we can get a cheaper price! :D
BTW, which one are you guys planning to get?
+1 voteNitroNinja on 14/03/2012 - 20:13 ¶As I've said… Only if Harvey Norman doesn't give the bullshit excuses.
bargain lover on 15/03/2012 - 09:49 ¶I have iPad 2 WIFI only and if I knew what I know now, would have gone for the 3G version, due solely to WIFI only model doesn't have GPS.
+2 votesWeird and Wonderful on 14/03/2012 - 20:22 ¶Not apple, big w or the posters fault that telstra's 4g is incompatable.
Great deal and it will still work on 3G networks.

when in fact it does not connect to Telstra's 4G LTE
In Fact, Telstra's LTE does not qualify as a 4G network either. Better than HSPA, but does not meet 4G minimum. Its just marketing bull.

NitroNinja on 14/03/2012 - 20:23 ¶Kogan does not inc shipping. Shipping roughly brings it u to $500
+3 votesChris McMahon on 14/03/2012 - 20:31 ¶I've pre-ordered a Black 64GB WI-FI from Apple. It's $11 cheaper from BigW, but I've got free delivery, engraving and guaranteed delivery so I'm not too worried about the difference.
