expired 4x Gold Class Movie Tickets for $39 (Save $117), Free Postage - Friday's Amex Connect Deal
This was posted 1 year 2 months 20 days ago, and might be an out-dated deal
Okay, I'll post this a day early. I think I have enough tickets now.
This is today's upcoming deal for Amex Connect (at 12:00pm). I am not a rep, a few of us on the forums figured out how to get this info early.
Gold Class Movie Tickets, buy 1, get 3 free. $39 for 4 tickets, saving $117. Free postage via Australia Post (ordinary, not registered).
Tickets expire 30 March 2013.
Valid at Event, Birch Carroll & Coyle and Village cinemas.
You're meant to need a bank issued (ANZ, CBA, NAB, Westpac) Amex but in reality it simply DOES NOT MATTER.
I have used a non-bank issued Amex to buy a whole bunch of stuff from Amex Connect already. Just select any bank when asked.
I don't know how many will be available but the first batch had 700 lots, the second batch had 400 lots.
So the link was meant to be: http://www.amexconnect.com.au/OfferDetails.aspx?OfferId=47
BUT, if yesterday's deal is anything to go by, it might change so I suggest you simply bookmark http://www.amexconnect.com.au
TIPS for those crying about not being able to purchase anything:
Use a decent fixed broadband internet connection, not some mobile "broadband" rubbish.
Have your credit card number saved in the clipboard so you can just Ctrl-V it (or if your name is really really long, maybe have that saved instead).
At around 11:45, go to the site, click on Your Profile, log in again when prompted by the pseudo-popup, and leave the browser open.
Open up your system clock. It should be sync'ed to an internet time server, just as Amex Connect's server is. When it hits 12:00:00pm, refresh the page. No earlier.
Maybe open another tab loading the page every 5-10 seconds, but leave the current one going. Don't hit refresh.
Once one starts loading, close all others.
Do this for the first click (View Deal), and second click (Buy Now).
TYPE FAST.
T&C will state one purchase per person per account per card per day per whatever.
However, if you have multiple accounts you can purchase multiple times, just use different details in the top box of checkout.
Delivery name / address can be the same, credit card details can be the same.
You will need multiple accounts now as the email address field is not editable as it was during the first batch of tickets. To pull this off, have multiple browsers / computers pre-logged in from different accounts (will likely sell out before you can switch accounts).
This is the last daily deal by Amex Connect (unless they extend it).
Thanks for the great ride, American Express. Cheers for the bargains.

Guess what today's deal will be:

The direct link has typically been:
http://www.amexconnect.com.au/OfferDetails.aspx?OfferId=47
(substituting 47 following the obvious pattern), redirecting to 48 until 12:00pm SHARP
but today's tablet tricked us by jumping to 118 (random)

alwayseric on 30/03/2012 - 11:02 ¶the website is dead dead!! never happened before, not even yesterday.

alwayseric on 30/03/2012 - 11:09 ¶but you still have plenty time, not like yesterday i missed it by seconds at 12:02PM. FXXXXk :(

I was on the page where I was filling out the details, and when I hit submit it timed out. Had to retry. And every other time I hit submit, I get "Payment error — suspected fraud (159)".
Lame. Now I don't even know if my payment went through or not. They may have charged me already, but I don't know if they will send the tickets.

We didn't take down the server entirely. Disappointed in OzBargain.
In other news, I thought this kind of deal doesn't belong on OzBargain.
Limited quantity, slow website that demands refreshing…
I guess that's only true if you miss out, right?
Bloody whingers. Let's not become like Whirlpool.
alwayseric on 30/03/2012 - 11:18 ¶tomorrow's 12pm deal will be whatever you like, pasta, fish & chips, or maybe Chinese food?
jamestownfx on 30/03/2012 - 11:17 ¶+1 suspected fraud error - finally made it to the payment but it wouldnt go through!

jamestownfx on 30/03/2012 - 11:25 ¶Yep - when I finally do make it to the payment gateway, I get the fraud error.

Payment error: Suspected fraud (159)
The deal is for bank issued American Express cardmembers
My card was issued by Westpac unless I am typing something wrong.
Security code is 4 digits right, and on the front of the card? VISA and MC are 3 digits and on the back, but I don't see anything there.
The first time I clicked submit it didn't say Suspected fraud but it crashed and I had to reset. Every other time after it did say that. I checked my email and never got any confirmation though, so I don't think it went through.
I've had to give up. It won't accept my card. They better not have charged me for it.
alwayseric on 30/03/2012 - 11:30 ¶same here. i use my gf's credit card. should ask her to check if her card is debited.
+1 votegreydaniel on 30/03/2012 - 11:26 ¶They have made it AMEX ONLY this time, which makes this a lot less attractive to most people on here…
