Decaf tea and coffee
Hey guys,
Does anyone know a good place to buy decaffeinated tea and/or coffee?
We're not connoisseurs at all, and used to by $2.50/200g coffee and about $3/100 tea bags.
Since going mostly decaf, it's expensive! Decaf is about $8-9 for 250g at the supermarkets, and tea is $7 for 100 bags.
Tried Costco but no luck with decaf tins there, even though they have it in the US (don't think decaf is as big here).
No luck with Aldi either!
Any other tips, we'd buy online and in bulk if it was available.
Thanks!

I should have specified with the coffee that we just drink plunger / 'french press' coffee, so it doesn't need to be any particular kind or grind (or at least we aren't fussy about it).
That's not a bad price for your espresso, but that's going through a machine so the quality would be more important. Is that roughly $6/250g including shipping?
Thanks!
Used to drink Ginder's coffee from Coles. It was really cheap on special, but they don't stock it any more. I've still got plenty left adn as I drink regular coffee mostly, it'll last a long time. After that, I'm stuck! I'd love to hear others' suggestions.
Sorry I can't be of help.

The coffee I buy is $6 including freight .. actually I think it was $5.96. (Bulk order which reduces the per unit freight cost)
I organised direct purchase from the importer when like tightwad, Coles decided to eliminate it from their line up.
Now I live on the Central Coast and there is no one here stocking this brand. Sydney may be different
I would be willing to ask the supplier if they will let others buy direct (24 packets at a time), and/or if there is a Sydney store stocking it. If so I will call them, and pm you, should you indicate interest here.
Greenspoon on 11/06/2012 - 06:21 ¶Definitely interested, thanks! A sydney stockist would be ideal, as I don't know if we have the storage space for 24 packs :)

I spoke with the supplier

Motta Caffè Italiano Decaffeinato (blue)
Decaffeinated in an all-natural, chemical-free method.Should you want to order in bulk PM me and I will supply details - they will do the same as they do for me.

I'll have a look though, thanks heaps :)

What type of decaf coffee do you like? Strong espresso type?
I have been drinking decaf for 30 years and agree its hard to find as compared to the US.
I do have a source where I buy an Italian espresso in bulk, about $6 for 250gm, shipped from Victoria. This was the only way I could get the quality I like. In my Cafe Roma Breville, when I make it everyone loves it. Caffeine freaks also, and they know its decaffeinated
On the tea side, I cant assist directly, however there is a way to decaffeinate regular tea.
