expired Wireless Xbox 360 Controller (with PC Dongle) for $29 + $4.90 P&H at MightyApe
This was posted 1 year 5 days ago, and might be an out-dated deal
$33.90 for an official controller that is also compatible with the PC is a pretty good deal! Shame I bought it for ~$42 with shipping included three weeks ago…

+1 votecaprimulgus on 15/06/2012 - 13:45 ¶confirmed with microsoft: mighty ape is fine! someone else had called this morning (probably mythbror).
so product is confirmed, and retailer is confirmed - cashback is go!!!
scytherbladez on 16/06/2012 - 11:29 ¶They have an Australian domain though (.com.au). I've sent an e-mail to MightyApe asking about an Australian invoice.
I hadn't sent my cashback of yet because I was concerned with the invoice, clearly shows it's NZ.
scytherbladez on 21/06/2012 - 23:27 ¶Yes I got a few replies from a rep. I'm now waiting for a response from the manager.
+5 votesI bought the cheapest available one from a Chinese eBay seller about 18 months ago and it hasn't skipped a beat.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/White-PC-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver...

Question, Why don't you use the normal USb dongle like this one instead? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nano-Micro-Bluetooth-USB-Adapter-...
Is there any difference at all?
Third_Gear on 14/06/2012 - 18:11 ¶I have this controller:
http://www.logitechshop.com.au/logitechgamepadf310.html
It isn't even remotely as good as the 360 controllers if that is the type of Logitech controller you are referring to.
Edit that last part out. NM. :)
+1 votesilverrat23 on 14/06/2012 - 18:37 ¶I bought this exact controller (for a higher price) and I can say it does come with a dongle. The controller itself is the same one bundled with the slim models of the 360.

Thanks for the info on the product silverrat23
Just bought 2 as well, looking forward to selling my white refurbished one from china that i got off ebay.
Would have bought more but this is my first purchase from them so see how it goes.
Silverrat did you get charged an overseas charge from you CC card company?

tyler.durden on 14/06/2012 - 20:33 ¶can u post some pics of the dongle..
is this RF or bluetooth?
btw is the dpad the updated adjustable version?
silverrat23 on 14/06/2012 - 20:57 ¶This is my one https://s3.amazonaws.com/storenvy/product_photos/218835/pc-w...
The dongle uses the same 2.4 GHz wireless technology present in the 360 itself, hence the existance of it, not RF (thank goodness) or bluetooth.
The dpad is the same-o' non-adjustable version
tyler.durden on 14/06/2012 - 23:28 ¶thanks
so that dongle is the official microsoft one? cos I notice the one you posted has "xbox 360" on it
but the one on thehttp://www.mightyape.com.au/product/Xbox-360/Xbox-360-Wirele...
has a microsoft logo on it.
is the adjustable dpad better? for certain games?
and can it be use on the pc with the dongle as well?Or will this dpad perform quite good?
I never really liked the dpad on the xbox.
Either ps3 or nintendo are the best.ps3 one is good for doing street fighter moves..
how well does it perform with this dpad and the street fighter 4 games?
+2 votesBefore this comes up, I'm gonna post it now…
There are three types of XBOX 360 controllers;Wired (All are PC Compatible)
Wireless (Non PC Compatible as the dongle doesn't work with a few)
Wireless (PC Compatible)I've been caught out by this before so I thought I might make others aware of it.
Also check if it's Windows and Mac, I have a feeling it might be Win XP/7/8 only.
Mighty Poo on 15/06/2012 - 09:03 ¶What official Microsoft Xbox 360 wireless controllers aren't supported on PC? I've ended up owning 9 wireless controllers since the original launch of the console and they all work fine on both platforms using the receiver.
In fact I just tested my original wireless controller I bought way back in November 2005 and it works on PC. Are you sure you're talking about official controllers?
+2 votesIt's $2 more (with $5 off code) at Ozgameshop for those who prefer them or want the player points:

backslashio on 15/06/2012 - 01:58 ¶I'd say a definite no :P Even though they have the name 'Ozgameshop' they're clearly not a registered australian business

spartan warrior on 14/06/2012 - 21:36 ¶Hey Zidago, Official Sony DualShock 3 Controller Black (Bagged) PS3 for $44.99 @ ozgameshop.com is a very good price.
-1 votescytherbladez on 14/06/2012 - 18:58 ¶I bought 2 of these earlier today for the xbox 360 i bought from DSE also earlier today.
The 2 xbox 360 controllers + delivery = $62.90.
tyler.durden on 14/06/2012 - 20:32 ¶benefit is you can lie down on your bed to play games..like how you would for console gaming
silverrat23 on 14/06/2012 - 22:08 ¶Unless you have a game specific bundle (i.e gears of war, kinect star wars), the console only comes with one controller

Xpadder works well for all the games that don't support control input just map the buttons to the key board and mouse.

Damn, didnt realise getting the receivers to make xbox controllers work on PCs were so cheap. Always thought they were like 50$+.
anyone know a cheap alternative to the PS3 Dual Shock controllers For the PS3? My friend and I really dont like using the PS3 controllers, much prefer the Xbox controllers but the only PS3 controller i could find that resembled the XBOX controllers was priced around 80$. We find the PS3 controllers really uncomfortable on the fingers / hands after a short gaming session as opposed to the XBOX controllers.

I have read about adapters to let you use one on the other but have no knowledge of any specific brands or how well the devices do the translation… I would think it should be cheaper then buying a whole new controller.

You are on a quest many have embarked on before. I too was searching for a Xbox-like controller for the PS3. First, I bought some brand I'd never heard of from Kmart, broke it, replaced it, broke it, refund. Then I bought the Power A controller which may be the one you are referring too. Not a bad controller but within a couple of months, the analog stick and buttons were sticking which makes it pretty much useless. There's also alternatives from Nyko and Dreamgear which have mixed reviews. In my experience, the problem with these third-party controllers is the construction quality - the dualshock 3 might be a bit lacking in the design department (too small!) but they are generally solid and reliable. In the end, I just persisted with the dualshock 3 and after a couple months got used to it so it's not an issue for me anymore. Good luck!
gummibears on 15/06/2012 - 10:49 ¶It says "In stock" for me. Added to cart but I didn't go any further so can't confirm.
scytherbladez on 15/06/2012 - 11:34 ¶Just an update on the 2 that I ordered yesterday at $29 each.
They have both been shipped this morning via AustPost :)
+1 votecaprimulgus on 15/06/2012 - 13:48 ¶confirmed with microsoft: cash back is go!
(both the product AND retailer confirmed to be accepted by microsoft)
leonheart1 on 15/06/2012 - 16:36 ¶He's talking about the price change from $29 to $35. The Microsoft Cashback Offer remains unchanged.

Does a single PC dongle work for multiple controllers?
