The Da Vinci Code Book for $1.50 at Coles (and More Books)
This was posted 1 year 1 day ago, and might be an out-dated deal
Hi, my name is Shmahoo and I'd like to make a confession.
Ozbargain has simultaneously enhanced and ruined my life. When I see a latest Solid State Hard Drive for a ridiculous bargain price, I have to think twice before NOT buying it, just coz it's a bargain. I'm 37 years old, and I think if I saw a deal on retirement villages I'd possibly take it up "COZ IT'S A BARGAIN"
With that in mind, I present the events from yesterday. I mainly shop at Coles, and have eyed their book bargain bin for a number of weeks. Starting at $5, they are now down to $1.50. And this is the sad part of the story.
Yesterday I bought a copy of Dan Brown's "The Da Vinci Code". I haven't read it, probably won;t ever read it, but at least I'll own a copy.
And so ends this week's "confessions of an OzBargainer"

Maybe if you make a book of your confessions it may sell for more than $1.50. Win! :)

+2 votes+1 if just for the intro…
I think we need "Confessions of an OzBargainer" in the wiki. Something like Epic Threads. Just so people can share their bad/awesome bargain related stories. OzBargain has effectively cost me more money than i would like to think about. So I don't think, and I just pay the credit card bill each month… :P

+1 voteFrom what I've been able to gather after speaking to a few femmo colleagues & friends, it seems that the anti-Brown bashing fad stems from the guilt & shame of having read the book & enjoyed it, perhaps even finding it 'enlightening or empowering for women'; only to find out later that a work of pulp fiction contained glaring inaccuracies…shock, news at 11. :p

For those interested in the last battle, many were lost that day.

+2 votesflutterby101 on 17/06/2012 - 15:56 ¶Thanks, they didn't have Dan Brown but I managed to get a copy of Steig Larssons, David Baldacci and Jeffery Archer for $1.50
revolushenary on 17/06/2012 - 16:21 ¶Won't ever read this book but it will make me look smarter if I put it on the bookshelf :D
Strand0410 on 17/06/2012 - 16:53 ¶It would have quite the opposite response. Well, replace "don't have books" with "Dan Brown"
Mic Cullen on 18/06/2012 - 17:56 ¶No, it'll make you look like someone who doesn't have a clue about decent books.
