Anyone know if the 2TB is a WD or Seagate? From the other thread, looks like the 3TB is a seagate.

Does anyone know if it is a 7200 RPM drive?

    •

When I brought them it had a WD green drive 5400

Just brought 2, and dismantled it - Mine's a April 2012 Manufactured Batch, which consist of WD GREEN drive, WD20EARX 64MB CACHE. They are not easy to open without breaking the clips (there are 8 clips, the hardest to unclip are the corners 2 on each side), but still possible to do. There's a warranty void sticker stuck on it, so you will loose the warranty once you dismantle the drive. But for the price, it's a pretty good deal!

BTW This deal is pretty much available everywhere!

Does not really answer your question but it may fall under these range of hard drives:

Looks like it's a 5400rpm drive which is not what I'm after.

Has somebody already confirmed that the 3TB version has a 7200rpm disk inside?

I just bought the 3TB from Bing Lee today thanks to the OP.

Date of Manufacture as written on the box: 2012 05 10

CrystalDiskInfo reports that the disk is ST3000DM001-9YN166 3000.5GB
    Firmware: CC82
    Rotation Rate: 7200 RPM
