Greenspoon on 09/07/2012 - 17:56 ¶Working for me but hideously slow.
On the plus side, it still said 5640 claims left, so I'm guessing it's not slow because it's been OzBargained.
Wife out getting two tubs right now, oh yeh some good times coming up tonight… eating ice cream.

Greenspoon on 09/07/2012 - 18:41 ¶Pretty sure there isn't one. Not on any of the tubs in my local woolies, and the claim form just wants a barcode.
Greenspoon on 09/07/2012 - 19:01 ¶I think my receipt number was considered legit. It's the 4 numbers after 'TRANS' on the bottom.
Greenspoon on 09/07/2012 - 19:00 ¶Yeh you're probably right, my codes are 'invalid'.
If you believe this is in error, call 1800 633 200… which is closed. Guess I'll have to call tomorrow morning and see if the deal can still be had… now I really want that magazine that I never really wanted and may never read.
Greenspoon on 09/07/2012 - 19:07 ¶Maybe she was wrong? Seems weird that the claim form would specifically reference last 4 digits of product barcode, and under 'participating products' it doesn't mention specially marked promotion packs or anything like that…
So did she say she can process your claim manually?
-1 voteno she said its the code under the lid and then that's it was very unhelpful plus was asking me how i even knew about the promotion i mean doesnt sound like this woman knew anything! but my barcodes didnt work so i figured has to be promo products why else wouldnt they work?
Greenspoon on 09/07/2012 - 19:50 ¶I dunno, but they probably wouldn't put this on the website if they weren't expecting some barcodes not to be automatically validated:

What if the PETERS Light & Creamy website doesn’t accept my details and I keep getting an error message?
Check that you have entered all details correctly in the required fields, (note that fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory). If you are still receiving an error message please call 1800 633 200 advising us of the details of your error message.I'll try calling tomorrow and not taking no for an answer, and post back with how it goes.

theguyrules on 09/07/2012 - 21:47 ¶That is incredibly frustrating that they would imply on the website that you DON'T need to purchase specially marked packs, as most, if not all people who purchased them today will be ripped off.
Edit: it did however just accept my claim using non promo pack barcodes. Before it was saying the codes were invalid.
+1 voteBought two of the Light and Creamy without promo stickers. Entering the information from the Woolies receipt and 4 digits from the barcodes on the pack seemed to work. I hope.
Got a confirmation that says:
If your claim is successful, you will receive an email with your Magazine Redemption Code within 10 working days.
Haven't received any form of email confirm whatsoever. There is no way to prove that you claimed unless you screen save the final screen. A good offer seemingly badly executed.
Greenspoon on 10/07/2012 - 05:55 ¶Yeh, it worked now, at 5.51am using Chrome. Guess there was a bit less traffic.
Two 1.8L ice cream tubs, not specially marked. Didn't work last night with the same codes.Great deal, and the ice cream is pretty good too…
+1 voteI had trouble sleeping last night not knowing if I would get my magazines or not :( but as soon as I read your post I tested it out and it worked for me too using Chrome, thanks!!
Although my receipt number looks funny. Its like "STORE xxxx POS xxx TRANS xxxx"
I didnt have another receipt from a different woolies to compare with so I just put in the numbers in between.
Hope this helps :)

So you can claim this without having specially marked packs? Cause I just went to two different Woolies and neither of them had tubs with anything marked on them for this promo.
It just appears from everything above there is conflicting info from Woolies site and then Peters official site.
-1 votematt_will_fix_it on 10/07/2012 - 15:11 ¶I would buy normal (non-promo) packs… eat all the ice cream, return them to woolies saying there is no special voucher (and you had to check at the bottom of the ice cream for the voucher), then ask for a refund.

This is bit annoying. If this would be a Joe from the Corner shop, I would understand that his $5 a month server may not be able to cope, but Nestle? Hope this will get to the right places and their IT (or marketing) will learn from it. It is not like hundreds of thousands people going to it at the same time. Yes, it needs some grunt, but hey, many discussion servers are hit much worse every day. This cannot even be called ozbargained! :-)
Once I get through I will mark the deal. If it will be sucess it was a great deal, cheap subscription and a free ice cream! :-)
+3 votesWebsite is back up and has this message:
Unfortunately there was an error in the Woolworths Catalogue. Specially marked packs that feature an 8 character unique claim code are not required to enter the 2012 PETERS Light & Creamy Free 6 Month Magazine Subscription offer.
Tried putting in the codes today after last nights debacle. Site said I had already lodged twice, well not to my knowledge as the system was slow last night and I even get to submit the completed claim. Called the free call number this morning and explained the situation. She took my details and said someone would call me back which they did. The rep entered my details at her end and got confirmation that my claim was successful . Just waiting on email confirmation now which may take up to 10 days. Recommend you call the freecall number if you have issues

Site seems to be working (at least temporarily) again. Using 3 different browsers & continually refreshing them, I eventually got saw the security code to input at 10:20pm tonight. (all browsers worked in the end)
I then worked through the rest of the fields (the site accepted the receipt number as the 4 digits after TRANS on the receipt). The last 4 digits of the barcode also failed (not valid …), but with persistence finally worked with exactly the same details.
All for that no reference number other than they'd get back to me in 10 days. Now for the eating!!
I'd say there was a database connection error and the error codes were symptoms of the connection issues to the promoter, so late night or early morning attempts are most likely to succeed.
& finally the homepage counter is updating and says 4315 magazines left. I hope that lifts your spirits!!

Went through the self checkout and stupid me hit no to the receipt out of habit. Had to get a lady to reprint it and its a duplicate receipt and the closest thing to a receipt number on it is the 4 digit transaction number. Guess I will find out in 10 days if it worked :(

I forgot to print the receipt at the checkout and in my haste to get home, I forgot to ask for a reprint. So I've put in my everyday Rewards Card number as the transaction number and my claim went through. I hope they accept it as I always buy this ice cream and I dont see myself going back to buy tub 3 & 4 just to get the magazine subscription. I would have thought it would be easier to just enter two barcodes from inside of lids or something, than keep a receipt as many of us ditch the receipt out of pure habit anyway.
Greenspoon on 13/07/2012 - 10:57 ¶just out of interest, did you use the TRANS number (4 digits) as your receipt number? Or a combo of the store+Pos+trans?
paulbrown073 on 14/07/2012 - 23:01 ¶Went on the website on Friday 13/7, had bought 2 of ice cream slices. Entered the whole store, pos & trans # with no spaces and last 4 digits of barcode and had no problems. Just waiting on email. "subscriptions left" was about 1240 when I was online.
theguyrules on 15/07/2012 - 00:01 ¶Still no email - those who have received it, who was it from? Just to be sure spam isn't catching it.
theguyrules on 16/07/2012 - 08:49 ¶No idea where to enter my redemption code now that I've got it… On the payment screen there's only The option for a gift voucher which requires a password. So damm confused.
Greenspoon on 16/07/2012 - 11:51 ¶That's odd. I got mine and followed the link in the email and it was very clear after registration where to put in the code.
theguyrules on 16/07/2012 - 13:50 ¶Got it working on the PC, the phone brought up the wrong payment screen.
