Technically not a bargain…but thought it was worthy of a post.
If you're already with Dropbox (pro plan), the storage has automatically been upgraded.

+2 votesHahahaha I came here to say the exact same.
That said, Dropbox is still definitely the better bargain. The featureset is still far more complete: App for iPhone, better app for Android, lan sync (absolute necessity when you work on laptop+desktop with large files), more polished, etc.
It's definitely one of those things that can't be judged at face value.

What your suggesting is that because a Mercedes is more expensive than an Hyundai it can't be a bargain.

+3 votesAuto-sync across devices.
On a basic level think of using it as your 'work folder':
0 You don't need to worry about any backups etc. as all automatically get backed up on cloud.
0 Don't need to worry about version control as you can view and restore previous versions.
0 Wherever you are you can access the files instantly without having to think about if you placed it on your USB
0 Allows you from any place to put an item in your dropbox folder and have it ready on your PC when you return home!
+1 votewhat can this cloud service do that an SD card or a USB stick cannot?
A truckload. Dropbox has a lot of automation and it also integrates with a lot of services.
Example:Automatic photo uploading from camera or phone. Just plug in your device, click Sync and everything is sorted and uploaded.
Reques files with JotForm and Airdropper, Filestork etc.
- You can setup your website or blog, and use Jotform as a means of storing files that other people upload. Very handy for school teachers or project managers. You can use Dropboxifier to manage your save games and "cloudifiy" them.
Use Dropbox to manage BitTorrent and Usenet Downloads from anywhere at work or home
File transfer easily from your PC to your phone via Wifi LAN transfer
Backup your Android phone using Dropbox - Titanium Backup synchronization
Use your programs from the cloud (Cameyo Application Virtualisation)and about a hundred more plugins you can use:

Automatic photo uploading from camera or phone. Just plug in your device, click Sync and everything is sorted and uploaded.
In some cases, you don't even need to do that. I take a picture on my phone, then when I go to my computer it's already there. I don't have to think about it at all.

Really scrimshaw…
The Local DropBox folder, if you delete the file from the cloud it deletes in the file in the local folder as well, so assume a major problem with DropBox's infrastructure, there is a chance that the files in your local folder may be sync'ed and all files delete( just in error of course).
All I am saying is the DropBox folder on you PC like any folder of important information needs to be backed by you up to an external source other than Dropbox, but people will learn the hard way, believing the cloud storage is the answer to this problem, but DropBox is not the answer. You need to have a backup copy external to DROPBOX .
Ask those that were using MegaUpload for cloud storage, FBI has their data now, can you imagine if the FBI deleted the data on those servers and the same deletion syned to you local drop box as well….. poof data gone.
+1 voteClearly you haven't used Dropbox then. It's call file revision. Things you delete in Dropbox aren't deleted, you can easily restore them from the web UI.
As for MU comparison: If Dropbox servers went down your data wouldn't be deleted, it would simply just fail to retrieve updates. Dropbox also isn't in the habit of marketing itself as a warez freehaven, and exposing internal company emails bragging about that fact.
