Freedom Insurance - Funeral Plan FREE for 1 Year - No Catches, No Upfront Costs
This was posted 10 months 9 days ago, and might be an out-dated deal
They are offering cover from $4000 - $15000 cover for funeral insurance and it's totally free for 1 year. I signed up a year ago and didn't have to pay a thing, my policy just renewed and only now have start to pay for it. You don't even have to carry on with the policy after a year. Just thought I would share this with everyone.

+2 votesRather than paying sh*tloads for funeral insurance why not pay into a prepaid funeral plan. Will save you heaps! Insurance plans get very expensive the older you get and if you live to a ripe old age you could be paying thousands more than what the benefits are. For most prepaid funerals, i believe that the full cost is locked in at todays costs rather than what it costs 10, 20, 30 yrs from now.

Most of your premium goes to pay commission and expenses. The cheapest policies are the policies sold through your superannuation. These are called group policies. This is because your super company has better buying power and the economies of scale of insuring everyone together. Not only do you not need to underwrite for these polices but the premiums come out of your superannuation fund money (so it does not impact your current cashflow).
If you want more insurance than your super fund is offering (which may only be 2 or 3 times your annual salary), then use an online agent, who rebates you some of their commission, thus reducing your premium. Agents sell policies cheaper than those you can buy directly from insurance companies.
The product is sold by these guys, but underwritten by AIA.
I would suggest getting your one year free and if you still want insurance after that, shop around or make sure you have a good group policy though your superannuation.

I could visit the local hospital's emergency room and take out policies on all the critical patients. Any that live past 1 year, I'll just cancel the policy.
Profit!

Doctor: I'm sorry Mrs Jones, the injuries your husband sustained in the car crash were too extensive and he passed away moments ago.
Mrs Jones: Oh no Doctor, my insurance policy says he's not allowed to die in a hospital within the first 12 months.
Doctor: Sorry, my mistake. Mr Jones, you're free to go.
Mr Jones: Thanks Doc. See you next time. [Walks out].
