Looks like a lot of clearance happening to this website.
Game consoles are on sales as well.
The banners of frontpage may have something you are interested in.
Sorry, I missed the Term and Condition when I felt so excited about the price

After Dark on 13/07/2012 - 23:44 ¶Some good prices but it seems the HDD prices are only if you spend over $300 - or am I reading that wrongly ?
+4 votesThis is not the correct price for the hard drives by them selves. You have to spend over $300 to get them at that price. This 'deal' has been going for a while and I think it's dodgy of gamedude because they come up first on static ice for their hard drives but the catch is the $300 minimum spend.
I won't neg because the front page has lots of stuff that could ve deals but a change in title should be done.
wolfenator87 on 14/07/2012 - 09:21 ¶I know. It is only a hard drive for god's sale. These were a dime a dozen before the terrible floods. Scarcity makes greater demand.

These are good hdd. Performance is great. I believe these are 1tb platters highest areal density drives you can get at the moment. I have 3. Make aure you do the firmware update if not at the latest code. They make intermittent chirping noise with out firmware update.

Not sure this is the case. I believe that there are two platter (1TB per platter) drives but also three platter (700GB per platter) drives around both with exactly the same model number, see here for info - http://forums.seagate.com/t5/Barracuda-XT-Barracuda-Barracud....
Plus there are reports the firmware update does not fix the chirp, only makes it quieter so it is less noticeable but does not fix the performance hit the drive takes whenever the chirp occurs (heads park).
Plus finally there is a branch of firmware (CC9x) that has been hung out to dry as it can not be updated regardless whereas the CC4x firmware branch can be updated (even if it may not fix the problem).

wolfenator87 on 14/07/2012 - 09:23 ¶It might be an alright deal if you are considering to buy a new laptop or something expensive but the $300 minimum purchase policy really blows. It's only a stupid harddrive.

Bought from them a few times and ended up getting shafted on warranty for one item, can't remember what it was exactly it was so long ago.
I haven't been to their "new" location, but I've been near it and the place was a ghost town, no one going near it. I guess if you burn enough people, sooner or later there's no-one left. How they're still operating is a mystery.
I can't imagine they've changed their ways, would suggest that you spend your money elsewhere, even if it does cost you a bit more it'll be worth it to avoid dealing with this slime.

not too bad, picked up four WD equivalents at $118/ea a few weeks back, but couldn't wait for delivery or a better deal
