Orbitz cuts 20% off select hotel stays via coupon code "XLMBAM". It even stacks with sale offers, which are already marked up to 50% off. That's the best percent-off discount we've (dealnews) seen from Orbitz in over a year. Additional taxes and fees apply. Book by August 13 for travel through September 10.

This is a huge discount. As a test, I searched for the best price on Hotelscombined for a hotel in Melbourne next Friday night (Radisson Flagstaff). The best price was $199 AUD through Agoda. Using Orbitz with the discount code, it came to $168.91 USD ($161.94 AUD).

Orbitz is a big travel booking site in the US.

EDIT: Note, it doesn't work with some big chain hotels (IHG, Accor)

USA hotels still turns out to be more expensive than priceline.com

  •

Dose this including flight + hotel? And how to add the coupon code?

      Hotel only.

Once you hit the Continue Booking (essentially the checkout), there is a place for promotion code. Right above where you put your credit card details in.

Doesn't include the bigger hotel chains I just tried. Prices look higher than other sites once you click through and they disclose "taxes and fees".

That was IHG (Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Intercontinental) and Accor (Novotel, Mecure etc)

Yeah, so I'd say it's similar to the hotels.com coupon codes where the big chains are excluded. Radisson definitely works though. Haven't tried any others.

  •

    Doesn't work with Novotel Brisbane:

"We're sorry the promotion code you entered is not valid for this hotel. Please see the promotion code rules below."

Is there a list of hotels that accept the code?

Don't forget to add the Foreign Transaction fee into your purchase on your C/C which can range from 0%-3% depending on whom your with as you are being charged in $US. Other than that an Excellent deal.

Might be able to also use Ebates, and the like to get another 5% Cashback.
