Mod2: Removed expiry as deal seems to be back on.

+1 voteNo, you can't activate them all in your name. From the conditions on the site:
- Limit of one voucher redeemable per person
- Available for new connections only
Nothing stopping you from activating under family member names. However note that all vouchers need to be redeemed within 3 months, so at most you can have 3 months unlimited for $6.
Edit: you ninja edited your question into an answered statement while I was typing the reply :P
bargain_knight on 25/07/2012 - 12:17 ¶Why is Paypal safer than a credit card? In Australia credit card providers, give you exactly the same fraud protection as Paypal. It is legislated.

+6 votes0ptus_Fail on 24/07/2012 - 20:00 ¶Woh! So many negatives!
Once you put your credit card details in, you're pwned!
+2 votesCalmerancer on 24/07/2012 - 20:01 ¶lol im still using the $10 redbull sims for 2 months, still have one left….
greenpossum on 24/07/2012 - 20:03 ¶Yeah I saw that and it looked like the wrong document was linked to, looked like a mobile phone offer.
Calmerancer on 26/07/2012 - 16:56 ¶In that case I say to Cloud - lol maybe you shouldn't make such dodgey comments
-So maybe you should READ what I wrote…..sigh silly ppl
+1 votegreenpossum on 24/07/2012 - 20:02 ¶Who cares, it's $2 and won't be my main SIM. If it works I'll have fun. If not, I can cuss Vodaf*** with basis. :)
No Paypal so paid with DC.
+3 votesamitbhullar on 24/07/2012 - 20:06 ¶"Upfront payment of $20 is required which includes the mobile sim hardware, postage and handling fee and connection/porting fees which is non-refundable"
This was in terms and conditions. when i signed up at no point of time it said that I was paying extra $20??? Can you please make it clear as I wont be signing up if that's the case…
Thanks
Calmerancer on 24/07/2012 - 20:08 ¶sounds ok, i might grab one or 2 but the only thing im thinking of is the payment method….. if u use credit card or some form like that will they automatically charge u the next months fee without asking u?
greenpossum on 24/07/2012 - 20:10 ¶Don't think so, you haven't registered for a service yet, that comes when you redeem the voucher. All you get at this time is an electronic voucher which has to be redeemed before 31/10.
greenpossum on 24/07/2012 - 20:15 ¶Also a question for the rep, when we redeem the voucher when does the 30 days start ticking? From the time we register the SIM online and choose or port a number? So actually there will be a few days delay between redeeming the voucher and getting the SIM in the mail?
Calmerancer on 24/07/2012 - 20:16 ¶I meant after u pay the $2 and wait untill that first month is up will they roll over the new month and charge u?
+2 votesgreenpossum on 24/07/2012 - 20:22 ¶Looks like they could if they have your payment details. So you might have to cancel.
Edit: It depends on whether you need to enter any card details here when you redeem the voucher:
http://www.suretelecom.com.au/main/page_self_service_prepaid...
Edit: Noticed a problem with that form, it submits to a HTTP page. C'mon Sure Telecom. Non-HTTPS submit links are a no-no in e-commerce. I certainly won't be filling in any card details on that form.
Calmerancer on 24/07/2012 - 20:25 ¶hmm only thing worrying me now is that $20 up front im just thinking this only applies for other services and not this deal but have to call and confirm…..
+1 voteCalmerancer on 24/07/2012 - 20:27 ¶Yer the terms and conditions are contradicting one another - one states free other states $20.
+1 voteKing Tightarse on 24/07/2012 - 20:33 ¶Confusing, disorganized and contradictory…
These guys are clowns.
+1 voteI think this clearly answers your question: There are no other fees or charges and your sim card and shipping are included so all you’ll pay is a tiny $2!
They say the $20 is for the sim, postage, and porting/connection, so unless there is a connection fee it should only be $2

Is suredeal.com.au associated with suretelecom.com.au? Suredeal looks like a daily buying site?
If they send you the sim, looks like you activate here: http://www.suretelecom.com.au/main/page_self_service_activat...
and there doesn't seem to be a need to give suretelecom your CC details.
+3 votesCrownanchor on 24/07/2012 - 21:05 ¶Suredeal is a group buying site, and its unrelated to Suretelecom.
Suredeal also did the $28 Savvytel deal about a month ago.
King Tightarse on 24/07/2012 - 21:09 ¶Sound good if you are careful… just watch it in terms of hidden charges etc Some people have been got with some really random crap from these guys.

suretelecom on 24/07/2012 - 21:11 ¶This is a $2 OFFER once only.
Please read the offer carefully. The offer states all of the inclusions, including free connection.
suretelecom on 24/07/2012 - 21:32 ¶Thank you for pointing this out King, 1 year ago customers used data excess usage fees and charges for other services, these were post-paid credit customers.
THIS is $2 ONLY, is pre-paid, no possible excess usage charges and everything included.
OBS Vouchers are redeemable once the suredeal offer is finished and the customers just sign up online.
-3 votessuretelecom on 24/07/2012 - 22:02 ¶As Sure Telecom is an honest and accountable company, we expect this also from customers.
As you have already purchased your 30 days commitment from Suredeal, credit card details are not necessary. We would only require those details if you were purchasing directly from us for this deal. All credit card details sent by customers are held securely.
+5 votesgreenpossum on 24/07/2012 - 22:25 ¶Ok, but may not be transmitted securely, see my comment above about your non-HTTPS form. Surely you can afford to buy an SSL certificate.
+1 voteonecentless on 24/07/2012 - 22:36 ¶REP,
i assume like others the deal will give us a voucher code only.
where do we pick microSIM at the redeem voucher link == prepaid selfserve application page ??
also where do we enter the shipping address??i assume (somehow) we receive the sim card +10days later,
we then need to activate it on the activation page, that is when then 30days starts?lastly, the 'vouchers must be activated 3 months from 31/07/2012 '
does this mean apply for the sim with the voucher within 3mths and activate the sim it anytime after,
OR within 3mths to activate the sim card??
+1 voteWatch out the deal conditions and the company. I purchased a great deal like this December 2011 ($15 unlimited calls with 500+1000Mbyte data. Suretelecom couldn't provide the contract condition, dismissed 1000Mbyte bonus, excess charges, "unauthorized credit card charges", etc etc. They are using every trick in trade to take advantage of the customers. I spent 4 months to get out of company and my money via ombudsman. This deal seems also very good, but I wouldn't take it for free!!!

They can muck around with D.O.B.-mismatch 'errors' when they feel it not their worth porting a number and then fail to dispatch your starter kit accordingly. They keep your payment of course. It is unfortunate when that happens & just reaffirms the careless attitudes behind these businesses. No doubt I am increasingly cautious before I join, though in my report I am more pointing to one of either Dodo or Vodafone AU as the alleged bad apple. Sadly they exist.
suretelecom on 24/07/2012 - 23:30 ¶'Sabric' is another example of a customer that used additional services on a post-paid contract. New customers, rest assure this deal is great and what you see is what you get.
We can only ship to your home address and your account and mobile sim must be active within 3 months.
+5 votesWhy can't you provide all answers at ONCE. Create a FAQ page if you have to.
- What is the procedure after purchasing the voucher?
- Will I receive the SIM card at my address after buying the voucher?
- Do I then need to activate the SIM card online?
- Can I redeem the voucher BEFORE the deal ends?
+1 votesuretelecom on 24/07/2012 - 23:59 ¶- Sign up to the pre-paid mobile product on ST website with voucher.
- No, it is a voucher only, you must sign up.
- You can activate online or over the phone.
- No, vouchers can only be redeemed once the deal has finished.
+2 votesThanks! Now, more questions…
- Provide link to ST website where we can signup after purchasing the voucher
- Do we need to enter credit card details on that form in order to signup AFTER purchasing the voucher?
- Will I be charged automatically on my credit card after 30 days of using the SIM card for the next month or do I have to top-up the account after 30 days to continue using the service?
- What will be the cost per month if we decide to continue using the service after first 30 days of usage?
+1 votesuretelecom on 25/07/2012 - 10:17 ¶Your 30 day starts from activation of your service. The service must be active within the redemption period or the voucher will be deemed void.

Too lazy to read the thread?

greenpossum on 25/07/2012 - 10:39 ¶I think you can select Mastercard from the drop down. Visa just happens to be the one showing.

Below average company to deal with http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1728820 plus other complaints
+2 votesREP,
I think this is what you really mean:
- "Voucher must be activated within 3 months from 31/07/2012" == "Voucher must be redeemed and SIM card activated within 3 months from 31/07/2012"
- "Sure Telecom Unlimited voucher is valid for 30 days from voucher redemption" == "Sure Telecom SIM is valid for 30 days from SIM activation", unless you want to continue and pay up.
Is this correct? Please clarify. The language is causing a lot of confusion.
EDIT: Also wanted to confirm that even though the vouchers are issued immediately, we can only use them 31/07/2012 onwards, correct?

I have not been to the site, but all the confusion above makes me think its too bl**dy hard and confusing.
Why cant i just simply buy it with paypal [ i know i know], get it sent to my address and use it?
That would be simple.
Some of these deals have all sorts of funny/tricky/suspect conditions attached and the posting company etc tries to fix them on the run.
