Swap Samsung Galaxy S2 with iPhone 4S
Have had the Galaxy for almost a year, and coming from an iphone I never quite adjusted to it. Phone is in good condition, unlocked with 16GB microsd card bringing the total storage to 32GB. Still has the original box and maybe even the receipt.
Let me know if you're interested. Can arrange to meet in Melbourne CBD or somewhere close to the city.

+6 votesThey might be perceived on-par when they were released. Definitely not now. SGS2 was released in Australia on 1 June 2011 and is no longer Samsung's flagship phone, and 14 Oct 2011 for iPhone 4S. You can get SGS2 for $0 on $29 plan at Vodafone since December 2011, but iPhone 4S on Vodafone is still $8 on $49 plan.
Looking at recent price trend of Galaxy Nexus and Samsung Galaxy S III, value of Adnroid phone drops fast. You might not even be able to swap an iPhone 4S with SGS3 now, let alone with SGS2.
In terms of performance/ability to do tasks - of course they're on about par. What I'm talking about is the fact that similar apple products are simply "worth" more. Has nothing to do with being "on par".
Just because a falcon and a bmw finish equal in a drag does not mean they are worth the same.
Btw, who is your phone contract with - sounds like they're screwing with you (assuming the credit, data etc are the same for both phones)

And based on sale value alone, even an S3 is less but it's an entire generation ahead. Truth is, 4s and the S2 are in the same generation and the S3 will be with the iphone 5.

4S is Apple's flagship phone in 2011.I think what I'm proposing is not entirely unreasonable. Judging by some of the reaction here you'd think I'm trying to swap a Nokia 2100 with someone's iphone.

+11 votesHere's how it works, if you want a flat trade, the items generally have to be even value. We aren't saying the 4S is better than the S2, we are merely comparing current market values. I completely agree that the s2 is better, but the fact remains that people are prepared to pay more for the 4s, why that is I'm not sure.

If a Honda is released with a BMW batch with a similar/better design and features, would you ask more for a Honda just because you think it has better design and features and was released in the same year?
I am an an Apple hater and agree that S2 is a better phone but simply put it this way - you can get a used S2 on Gumtree for under $300 easily - I have seen some even under $250 which were less than a year old. But dont think you would get a 4s for under $300.
But atleast your request is not as absurd as this guy who wants a new S2 for $100

+1 voteLol poor fungi79, do yourself a favour. If you want an iPhone 4S, you will need to stump out cash on top, that's a given. Work out how much you are willing to pay and post it on Gumtree. The weekend is here and you will probably get a few bites provided you offer a decent amount on top.

good luck for getting 4s, I would say that even iphone 4 is pushing it (although quite possible) - apple holds value quite well. Coming from android fan so no apple/android bs, talking about what the general market perceives the value as (in my opinion).
