This was posted 10 months 23 days ago, and might be an out-dated deal
So after seeing the DC35 for a good price in the post below, i went looking for the DC37(or similar) that i wanted… it listed for EUR 307,31 but for some reason when i go to finalize payment, it comes up at ~EUR 280!
Good price? or will someone shoot this down in flames?
Product Description (rough translation)
With the conduits for the air flow re-engineered to maximize the suction power. Captures more dirt than any other vacuum cleaner with cyclone technology. Instead of bags that clog and lead to reduced suction, Dyson cyclone technology uses patented throwing dust and dirt out of the air flow directly into the bin. Conventional vacuums can be uncomfortable, heavy to handle, difficult to handle and hitting obstacles. Ball vacuum cleaner without jerky movements. Rotates at a point. No jerky movements. The ball also houses many of the heavier components to achieve a lower center of gravity and increased stability. Brush Triggerhead: The only controlled turbine brush from the handle. No need to bend down to adjust when moving from one soil to another. A rotating brush to clean dirt from carpets, pull the trigger and shut down to protect hard floors and delicate rugs. Permanent HEPA filter: For people who suffer from allergies. Captures microscopic allergens as small as pollen, bacteria and mold. Mini turbo brush: With tough bristles that rotate at high speed to remove dry dirt and pet hair from the most difficult corners of your home. Articulated parquet brush: With soft bristles for delicate cleaning floors and made a. Rotates 180 ° and has an ultra slim profile to reach the most difficult corners.

It would appear so…

no need for a power converter, just buy a cheap adapter :)

I decided just to get this anyway before they sell out. If the warranty is void I will just have to accept that - with the money saved I can just get it fixed if something goes wrong.
If anyone is able to post a link to the power adapter this will need, it would be much appreciated :)

How will my guarantee be affected if I move abroad?
The 2 year guarantee provided is applicable to the country in which the product was purchased; if the product is taken abroad the guarantee may be invalidated. For confirmation please contact our customer care team on 1800 239 766, Monday - Friday 8am - 6pm EST, Saturday-Sunday 8.30am to 4.00pm EST.http://www.dyson.com.au/support/help.asp?article=73&product=...

That would still be cheap for Australia.
Are you sure it was the same model? This is the ball model.
"Ball™ technology: Turns on the spot. The only barrel vacuum with a central steering mechanism - for greater control"
The cheapest i can find that looks like this model in Aus is $609 del.
http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/dyson-dc39-multi-floor-vacuu...

Hmmm, it does say that in the amazon but below link compares the models better, not sure if accurate though. Maybe need to read the product pdfs.
http://www.dyson.nl/store/productmodel.asp?model=DC37
But then again, when you google several other websites, they state that the origin model would have hepa, go figure.
+1 voteMake it so on 29/07/2012 - 15:05 ¶I am not convinced it adds much. Even the older Dysons can filter down to 2 micron. A sales person once told me that the only reason they added the HEPA is because other vacuum cleaners do it, and they don't want to create the impression that they are lacking something. However, even for my 6 year old Dyson, "the air coming out is cleaning than the air coming in" (that's what it said, I think think it's true).
Just my 2 cents….

+1 voteThanks for the heads up OP.
We already have a DC14 in the household, which has been performing very well for the last 3 years and still going strong. The only negative is that it was a little cumbersome for tight areas and corners.
I have placed the order for a DC37 and a car cleaning kit while I'm at it. I think I secured the very last car cleaning kit
Very good deal I must say.
It's saying estimated delivery date towards end of August so it looks like it will be 3-4 weeks wait.
I am in the process of buying this.
This can not be sent to a PO BOX?It is saying " We're sorry. This product can not be sent to the selected destination. You can change the shipping address or change the product quantity to 0 and click "Update" to remove the product from your order"
+9 votesHeres my take on it:
Model
As other people have mentioned this is the equivalent of the Australian DC39 Multifloor model. This model shares the same motor with the more expensive 'Allergy' and 'Animal' variants. In fact the only difference between the models as far as I can tell is the included attachments.Attachments
Note that the attachments seem to differ slightly from the Australian model. If the Amazon page is to be believed this model includes:
-Triggerhead brush
-Mini Turbo brush
-Swivel hard floor toolI'm inclined to believe this isn't the case though, as Triggerhead brush is exclusive to the 'Allergy' and 'Animal' models here. The Dyson.de listing for the DC37 Origin Plus list the following accessories, which seem to be more in line with the Australian equiv.:
-Stair tool / Upholstry nozzle
-Car/Boat nozzle / This thing
-Extra soft brush
-Adjustable floor nozzleFor comparison the Australian DC39 Multifloor includes the following:
-Stair tool / Upholstry nozzle
-Combination Crevice/brush tool
-MuscleheadDoes it have a HEPA Filter?
I'm inclined to say no. The amazon page linked to by this thread mentions "Filtro HEPA permanente" (Permanent HEPA filter) in the product description. This would seem to be in line with the Australian equivalent model the DC39 Multifloor. However if you go to the Dyson.es (Spanish) page there is no mention of this model at all and if you go to the Dyson.de (German) page you can find the model, but it doesnt mention it having a HEPA filter at all (whereas it specifically mentions it for the higher models).Price
You'll be hard pressed to find it locally for anywhere near this price. If you buy it in store I think you'd be looking at at least $150 - $200 more. Yesterday's Deals Direct sale was probably a slightly better deal, due to the inclusion of the HEPA filter and Australian warranty. But at more than $100 cheaper this is still a great deal for those of us that missed out.Alternatives
A couple of people have mentioned Miele vacuums as being a good alternative and based on what I've heard from friends and the latest Choice reviews I am inclined to agree. The Miele's purportedly have a better build quality, a larger motor and also the option of using bags for cleaner emptying. But they're also more expensive than the Dyson and it's harder to find them at a discount.Anyway that's enough procrastinating for me. Happy shopping :)
juicedpixels on 29/07/2012 - 19:03 ¶It's still a lot of money for something with no warranty.
I think I'll buy the DC29 at appliances online (5% off) with bonus turbine head from Dyson for $512 delivered.
+1 voteMaybe software but I honestly think that chance of something going wrong is relatively low especially considering that we are dealing with a high-end product. Our dc14 has been running flawlessly for the last 3 years and still no issues so I hope this one will give us a similar experience.
Dc29 is a cheaper product to begin with so you can't really compare. you are really saving around 300 bucks on local price
-1 voteI got the DC29 for $479 at Good Guys today - also couldn't resist/wait!
My wife told the attendant that she had seen it on their website for $479 and she was happy to believe her… What a winner!
Oh, and the turbine head is a freebie at the moment, via redemption from Dyson.

d) It's happened before for whatever reasonWhat logical reason have you got to submit a post that brings nothing to the table? If it happens it happens and ill let people know.

"What logical reason have you got to submit a post that brings nothing to the table?"
as opposed to your 'someone on whirlpool had an item that isnt this matched at some other retailer'?someone has already asked appliances online and they said no..
what 'magical' persuasion technique will you bring to the negotiation?sorry to bring some reality to the discussion but this is way under what dyson australia would sell to local retailers for..
- if you want it cheap, import it and take no warranty (or annoying ship it back, waste of time warranty).. i bought a different dyson a while back from amazon.de because of the savings
- if you want it local, then pay the difference and appreciate the warranty and local support/service that comes with it
+1 voteshopaholic32 on 29/07/2012 - 23:21 ¶I caved in too! Never bought from Amazon before so curious, any idea anyone, when they charged the credit card, is it when in stock or pretty much right away regardless whether they have stock or not, then refund later if it does not go ahead?

have had dyson bargains before and that is the shipping cost..
had the dyson i bought a while back shipped and at my door in only 3 days.
(though thats expensive shipping compared to the massive esky from amazon.com that was only $20 or so and was about 3 times the size of the dyson box)
-1 voteFor this price it's good.
I had a DC39 paid about $500, got it during the buy, try promo. Sent it back as as I found the $99 aldi bag less to perform just as well. Used an old rug to test and if anything the aldi unit did a better job as the new Dyson auto adjust head is a PITA.
Only difference I found was the dyson didn't loose suction after a very long period, but this is not an issue as I vac once a week (sweep in between) and empty after each use.Dyson is mostly market hype and flashy looks. Miele perform much better and are cheaper.
Once the aldi unit dies I will get will be going Miele.
+1 voteUsed an old rug to test and if anything the aldi unit did a better job ..
I've previously had a bagless LG - it was expensive on release, but I managed to find an ex-display at work for ~$200. Worked great, for about 6 months. Then the filters jammed up. No problem I thought - pull them out, clean them and away you go - washable filters FTW! Nope. It worked for about 1-2 uses, then it would fail again.. Then the hose busted a couple months after warranty ended…
Hopefully the Dyson won't have this issue, I've certainly never heard anyone speak poorly of them.

kev go westie on 31/07/2012 - 13:09 ¶Slightly irrelavent, has any one used a dirt devil vacuum cleaner ?
secondly does the prices listed on the amazon website include taxes ? if it is, does it mean that same item from spain will be 10% cheaper than germany ? since spain tax is about 20% and germany is 10% ?for example will the spanish dirt devil

Will this be a suitable adapter for this product:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2x-European-Universal-Australia-A...

it would but the best way is to
- make a trip to Big-W, Bunnings or any electrical store, buy a new blank Australian plug (about $5)
- Cut the existing plug off the vacuum when it arrives
- Strip the cables back and follow the instructions with the new plug to wire it upvery easy to do and much safer.. I was using a basic adapter on the Dyson I imported but due to the EU round pins on their power plugs it easily slips out of the adapter. Much safer to just wire up a proper AU plug

" it will void your warranty, and possibly your home/contents insurance (counts as unlicensed electrical work - if anyone ever found out/worst case scenario)."
its imported.. you only have the warranty if you want to go through the effort of sending it back (I didnt, even if amazon was going to refund shipping which remains to be seen)
and as for the legalities of replacing the power plug, the chances of something going wrong were significantly lower than the chance of electrocution or issues from utilising an adapter every timeI'm of the opinion that when a blank plug from big-w comes with instructions its designed for an 'amateur' to install… which would be a pretty interesting argument to make with an insurance company :)

Yeap.. just got it now.. I knew that they couldn't deliver it for 20 euro.. ~$23 AUD..
Shipping is now 87 euros.. or $101 aussie pesos..
I knew I was right…
"Vladdo on 30/07/2012 - 12:11
I have a sneaking suspicion that they'll cancel the orders as well.. 20 euros, express delivery? seriously?"

"it listed for EUR 307,31 but for some reason when i go to finalize payment, it comes up at ~EUR 280!"
that is because you don't have to pay the VAT, and therefore save the 10% tax…
whether this is a bargain or not, Im not sure but its normally an idea to check prior to posting ;)
