+2 votesGood price but to be honest I wouldn't bother paying over $100 for any DS now. The 3DS is selling faster than the DS (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-03-06-3ds-sells-twice...) and is actually really starting to take off in terms of titles too.

I imagine he brought it up because the DS has had problems with its hinges in the past. I forget whether it was the DS or the DS Lite that had problems, though.
Nintendo goofed up with the 3DS too, because the bottom screen rubs against and leaves marks on the top screen.
But, as far as I am aware, the DSi's hinges are fine.
+2 votesits only the fact the DS is a lot more break proof in a 4yo's hands compared to an ipod touch that stops me abandoning the whole DS range. all my older kids have moved on to ipods, leaving the 4yo with a selection of DS's to choose from. the games are just too expensive compared to ipod touch.

This logic does make sense but you have to remember that Nintendo is releasing Pokemon Black and White 2 for the DS, what SHOULD be an obsolete system by now.
They're definitely not done with the DS and its massive install base just yet considering the $$$ they can still get off of it, so I think we'll probably still see further price drops for the handheld.

The dsi and dsi xl are essentially the same, or close enough. But the more better-erness of the xl makes it a better deal overall. :P
+1 voteThe thing is, the "better-ernes" of the XL is completely subjective. Some people will prefer the larger screen of the XL, some people will prefer the higher pixel density and easier portability of the original DSi. It's completely a matter of personal preference, and that's NOT a valid reason for negging a deal — especially when this one is cheaper than the alternative.
I suggest you read over the voting guidelines:

While the DSi XL for $139 is a good deal and has been that price since Target did the original price drop during toy sale which Kmart matched. Kmart can most probably raincheck the DSi offer if it sells out where as the DSi XL is being clearanced to make room for the new 3DS XL as people dont prefer the XL range as gilbarc pointed out because of the pixelation and size, which is hopefully overcome in the 3DS XL
madturbo123 on 04/08/2012 - 06:20 ¶Highon2str the 3ds was an extra $20 more than the dsi xl during the toysale doesn't make this not a deal. Like the others are saying mate compare apples with apples!
