    i think at some point (can't remember where i read it) there was a privacy issue re phone cameras (voyuering), and there was a blanket practice on the newer OSes to make the camera 'click'…etc
    
    my stock 2008 samsung camera clicks can be muted, but after upgrading to 2.2 and now 2.3.. the clicks all have sounds. I would assume the same for S2 and S3 too.

      I also hate the photo sound. Couldn't turn it off on the stock firmware but could with a custom rom. This is SGS2 I'm talking about.

Bought this phone when it was 550 delivered. best phone i have ever owned. Can't be happier. Battery lasts me 2 days on average with normal use. girlfriend has the HTC one x and it doesn't even last a day!
