Tiger quoted $314 (including some luggage) which is a pretty decent price. Just price matched with Jetstar and got the whole lot booked for $287. Bargain.

Had to look frenetically for qantas/jetstar/virgin flights at airport and being easter long weekend there was no availability. didn't end up going, wasted money on taxi, accommodation, concert & museum tickets and tours all of which non refundable due to such last minute. (it was cancelled after hours of delay and changing gate made us running around with our baggage…) in june long weekend it happened again, managed to pay much higher price and got a seat with virgin following day so had to go home and back to airport again and also lost money on 1 night accommodation. NEVER again!!!

Which airport had multiple tiger gates/dep area? Sydney?
They all have cancellations/delays…Domestically Jetstar has my record Mel->GC 3hr late taking off, 10hr late to GC (had to fly into Brizzy, then eventually they bussed us down…wouldn't let us collect our luggage @ Briz & leave).Since it's relaunch Tiger has the best ontime record of all local carriers

For a bargain site, I am surprised how many people think of only the short term.
+1 voteTiger flights are sometimes cheap but their customer services is very bad. I booked recently with Tigers. The iternary I got somehow shown a wrong departure time, different from what i saw at the booking. Rang them straight away and was told that their computer never wrong and it could be my fault. They asked me to pay $30 to rebook the flight. I asked to speak to supervisor but the guy refused to escalate. If i want to complain, i have to go to their online complaint system. Let me tell you, after you submit the complain, they would never get back to you. I have taken that flight yet so go no experience with the actual flight but it will be my first and the only last with Tiger. If Jetstar or Virgin is $10 or so more expensive, fly with them. It will save you the headache later.

I work with someone who helped develop the airline software that Tiger uses, which is called Naviatare "New Skies", and I am sorry to say but its just not possible for it to happen.
I believe Tiger 2.0 is better than 1.0.

Service was much friendlier than Qantas or JetScum as well. Would definitely fly Tiger again!!

This promotion is valid for flight bookings made to 30 September 2012.
These Tiger flights are from Feb 13 onwards, so looks like I'm out of luck. :(
But how did the people above do it? Are the service staff unaware of the Sep expiry of the price match?
What the heck, I'll give it a go.

There seems to be a few who have done the price guarantee above. I think it means you need to book before Sept 30, not when the flights actually are.
greenpossum on 10/08/2012 - 12:20 ¶Unfortunately Jetstar either deliberately or due to high traffic shunts your call off to a "price matching department" where I waited for 10 minutes listening to inane spiels, including, the irony, one about their price beat guarantee, until I got tired.
Wondering whether to try again later, or just pay Tiger's extortionate booking charge, since I don't have a MC DC and they don't have Poli.
greenpossum on 10/08/2012 - 02:21 ¶Thanks I'll give it a go later today. I was sad that they use 1300 number that would cost from my mobile, but I did a search and found this page where they have a Skype contact, thus a "free call". Hope this tip works for you.
arcticmonkey on 10/08/2012 - 08:16 ¶Why not just book the Tiger flight? If people don't buy from them, we may see the end of these good deals.
My flight from Melbourne to Perth was fantastic and had great service.
greenpossum on 10/08/2012 - 09:21 ¶Tiger Airways charges for the use of a credit card per passenger per sector. So the final cost will be more than $20.
I don't think TA will have difficulty selling all the seats.
Jetstar will be flying me at a loss.
What's not to like? Except if you are a greedy airline.
Future Kids on 10/08/2012 - 13:13 ¶Just wondering what do passengers get for compensation, if these cheap flight get cancelled. Will the airline book me in for a later flight?
greenpossum on 10/08/2012 - 13:19 ¶They bundle up the leftover passengers in an old parachute and tie it to the next flight. No no, just kidding. :) I guess I'll find out next year.

Singapore Airlines pushed tiger so heavily into Australia to screw Qantas/jetstar (because SIA is not allowed to compete domestically in Australia).
So i don't think they really care if your pricematching with jetstar, as they will happily make a loss on flights if it takes money from qantas/jetstar.
-1 votemel- gold coast for 2 ppl. $107 FOR 2 POEPLE carry on luggage only. awesome! waiting for 10 minutes on hold with Jetstar, but worth it. Flew Tiger 3 years ago and will never fly again….But i have no scruples against always pricebeating Jetstar against Tiger. :)
