DX Condoms - 3.84USD for 50
T Man on 17/11/2008 - 01:31 (www.dealextreme.com)

As usual, free delivery. Extremely cheap, compared to what I usually pay. And its always good to have a some around. There are a variety of types on there, as well as smaller packs (if you don’t use 50 in a year, remember condoms do not last forever).

I haven’t tested them myself, but they appear to be tested by DX quite extensively and are electronically tested as well by the manufacturer. Enjoy.

Hope they’re not leaks :)

heh, that was my concern as well :) i figure some sort of ‘practice run’ might be in order to make sure,

One of their selling point is:

  • Product of China — where locals rely on such products to avoid birth control penalties (the government legally enforces birth control and fines “overage”)

thats not a good endorsement - I think actually its quite offensive

cacbm on 17/11/2008 - 02:47 ¶

lol, that is a good selling point actually.

I don’t think I’m game enough to try them though. ;)

walugi on 17/11/2008 - 10:23 ¶

how is that offensive?

itsross on 17/11/2008 - 05:40 ¶

Well, how can I say no to this offer. Even though this 50 pack would most likely last me two lifetimes, how can I resist telling people I order my condoms in packs of 50? It might actually work in my favour.

Not to mention the fact that it’s been electronically testeo.

u need to get laid more, mate.. 50 is on average once a week.. and to be honest, i reckon abortion would cost more than what you would save on these condoms.. i won’t put my trust in but it’s a good catch for ppl who just want to have a safe one night stand..

young_dazza on 17/11/2008 - 07:07 ¶

lol! You might be saving a few bucks now but just wait till you see the child support bills that you receive when these “made in china” goods fail… Good luck!

I just dont know if I want to trust my birth control needs to the home of chinese knockoff…..
But may be a shot for the next kids party.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Ansell et al make their frangas in China anyway. If not, I’m sure they will be soon.

WaywardOne on 17/11/2008 - 09:19 ¶

Actually they are made in India (from memory). Birth control made in the second most populous country in the world?!

edit
eek!

walugi on 17/11/2008 - 10:25 ¶

haha yeah, because everything made in china breaks right? Wait, where was your computer made?

Keep thinking like that, and spend the extra money for ” quality”.

They come in 3 sizes: Large, Extra Large and Gigantic:)

I’m a bit concerned they have a button for customers to submit their own product images. This can only end in pain.

VanessaT72 on 17/11/2008 - 08:39 ¶

That’s classic itsross!

They have a population of 1 billion - I don’t think their contraceptives are that..umm..successful?

aurotaro on 17/11/2008 - 09:27 ¶

at first, i read it as,

3.85 USED for 50

“they appear to be tested by DX quite extensively” - T Man

lol that can so be taken the wrong way … lol

I’m not going to put a negative but I have noticed some of my items from DX have arrived broken, a fact I’ve found out using some of the items … lol :P

Natt on 17/11/2008 - 10:53 ¶

Trying not to get too serious here.

Its offensive because the population of China is not controlled by using prophylatic contraceptives

Its a regime which includes bribery, coercion, forced sterilization, forced abortion, and possibly infanticide

Whether the policy has benefits or not is another issue

I am just annoyed that the business is using this as a selling point!

Mmm, some things aren’t meant to be taken seriously. I’ve used DX quite a fair bit and people are generally quite light-hearted about everything. Just look at some of the hilarious things they sell! I don’t think they actually expect that one line to sell more condoms. You can get far more ‘offensive’ stuff from stand-up comedians - and that’s what you’d be directly paying for.

T Man on 17/11/2008 - 18:12 ¶

I think they would get in a fair bit of trouble if these condoms were found to be sub-par in terms of breakages. However, many people (myself included) frequently use more than one method of birth control. I.e. The contraceptive pill, and condoms around ovulation, just in case. I have known people to get pregnant on the pill, so I guess these are good for people like me, who are a touch paranoid, maybe not as a frontline defense.

Positive vote for the humour factor, if nothing else. And also because DealExtreme give great after-sales service and warranty.

That means if you experience a unexpected “result”..I suppose they’d send you more. Although I’d anticipate the trouble-shooting procedure might be a little weird for this one…

They usually make you send a photo of the broken item ;) (or send the item back to them lol)

it’s even more cheaper than 50 balloons, so get some for your birthday balloons? :-

Won’t they be a bit … slippery… to play with…?
It’d also look a bit weird if you ask kids to blow them up…
