Just picked up one of these from a stand at the front counter of Mountain Designs while I was buying something else… damn you impulse retail marketing!! I only really wanted a bottle opener but it does a few other handy things and as it hugs an existing key it doesn't add any bulk or extra weight in your pocket so I thought it was a clever enough design to give it a try. Very well made and finished too, not just another POS gimmick.

There's nothing about it on the Mountain Designs website so they must only be in-store at the moment (only came in yesterday apparently) however I did a simple eBay search and the original price of $9.95 does seem legit so although maybe not a 'bargain' as such the sale price of $5.95 seems like a good enough deal. I might go get another one and pack it in my check-in baggage just in case it gets confiscated at the airport on my up and coming OS trip but as it wraps around a key I'm not sure it will be detectable. At $5.95 it's worth the risk anyway :) Enjoy!

A few questions. Does it come with the carabiner? I don't see a phillip screwdriver? How does the tweezer work?

  Bought this on eBay several months back. Yes it comes with a small carabiner. Load up the image to see the breakdown of each component. I've found this tool actually isn't that useful, since you have to take it off the key it's mounted on to for most functions. The Swisstech Utili-Key is a much better tool to get.

    Double recommendation for the Swisstech Utili-Key. I've had one for nearly 10 years and use it all the time. Also never detected on flights.
