I think it depends. From memory, one of the term and conditions were if you are unhappy with the product or its faulty product, you can bring it to a store.
From my experience, I preordered avengers DVD to get the free comic, however I realized they were selling in store for a better price. I printed the invoice and gave them the DVD in original package. They refunded the money without asking many questions.
I think it depends on if the store sells it and the person refunding. And if they know about the PayPal deal. ;)
