+6 votesI have this tablet. Got it for ~$500 a few months ago at JB. A pretty decent tablet. Love the full size SD slot - great for instant camera -> tablet screen viewing. However, there are severe light bleeding issues (google shows it's not an uncommon issue). Doesn't really affect the machine except when viewing blacks or at initial bootup. I bought this to replace an iPad 2 that my mum wanted (and had taken off me). Hardware quality wise this is no match for the iPad. Even the screen is no where as good. Although both are IPS panels, the iPad has a higher quality panel with better viewing angles. Some of parts of the tablet do feel a little flimsy too though that could be because it's so thin and light. It does feel better to handle than the iPad though, lighter+thinner. The speakers on this are borderline acceptable when toshiba's built-in audio enhancements are turned on. The device itself is quite fast. Battery life is not that great though. Nowhere near the same amount of time I could get with my old iPad. I'd say i'm getting around 5-6 hrs use per charge.
For ~$100 less though, it' definitely a bargain for someone wanting a 10" tablet.
IMPORTANT: you CAN NOT root this device. There are no ways to root this device from what I have researched on the internet (unless someone managed it very recently. haven't bothered checking).
