  • How does it compare to the Samsung 830?

  • +1

Fantastic price! And I thought 179 was a good price when I bought one just last week…

    • same here, ah well, $14 for one week of ssd use, i'm ok with that. Great SSD thus far.

  • the shipping charge kills it for me..13 bucks to brisbane

    • Awesome Deal OP.. pity bout the shipping though ~ 23 friggin bucks to the north coast? Does it get delivered by a postie made out of gold or something??

        • Whats Crucial M4 got to do with Plextor. Both different products. If you are going to compare deals then compare the same product. What you are doing is like comparing prices of Granny Smith apples with Golden Delicious apples.

        • And different sizes too!

        • +2

both different products? so one is ssd and the other is an expensive paperweight or something?

just indicating that for less/comparible money there are ALTERNATIVES available in both capacity and controller.

Some people may prefer the marvell controller over the plextor one? It does have a better track record after all? so sorry for creating hardship to your day by providing tips

Also theyre both SATA3 devices so speed wise the same

Reviews have substantiated that m4 is the sweet spot for reliability, price, capacity and warranty.

And a 256gb option is available in the post i linked to if you both reading

  • Just called: they said they no longer allow you to walk in & buy at the shopfront without paying some $4.95 charge to 'prioritise' your order. Is this true?

    • try walking in pretending you didnt know about the sale or website
if they quote you a different price, throw a tantrum
and walk away if they dont honor it

otherwise its bait and switch and price discriminating.

but Mwave are notorious for being dodgy, remember they got owned by the ACCC for not honoring warranties

this is why i never shop with them

  • Yes some places like IJK charges this. I don't see a problem with ordering first though.

    • IJK won't charge this if you order in store using their terminals, though.

  • Wanted to buy this on an impulse but Mwave sufficiently ruined it for me. Was willing to give them a go again after previous horrid experiences but they've truly earned their place on my do not shop list.

The priority handling fee is not just a deal breaker but outright stupid. If their processes are so poor they cannot prioritise in store orders then I am not paying to subsidise them fixing it.

No way to pay in store even with an online order means I can't pay today and pickup the same day without paying priority handling fee as well as credit card surcharge. At this point I could afford to get it shipped from Umart for the same price.

  • don't like Mwave!!

  • Ive dealt with Mwave in the past and had no issues.
Reviews seem pretty good for this SSD so I bought one this morning, already had the email to pick it up.
