  • Link WITHOUT your referral ID: http://www.dodo.com/

It's on their home page. Are you really a rep??

    • Technically it is not a referral as I work for Dodo. It is a link for us to track though.

      • +1

Ok, thanks for clearing that up

      • Just been on the phone to dodo and they have said that this is defiantly a referral ID.

You may work for dodo but it's not fair to misrepresent yourself, the person that I spoke to also stated that dodo and dodo representatives 'do not post on ozbargain'

  • Phone line rental included?

    • This plan does not included Phone Line rental.

If you do want the Phone Line included that brings the Bundle price up to $79.80 per month.

      Hope that helps.

      • +2

Phone line rental really kills it. It's the only reason I don't have home Internet.

If I want adsl2 then I need a phone line, if I want naked Adsl then I need to put my phone number to see if I can get it.

Don't want a home phone just want the interwebs.

Tough decision between halo 4 and sesame street!

    • All the other games are suitable for kids under 8, I actually think its a good move to offer an option for the little kiddies.

      • That was the plan. Some people may have younger kids and not think Halo 4 is suitable for them so we offer an alternative.

I have unlimited adsl 2 for $30 a month bundled with phone rental for $30 with dodo

      good for you…

    • If this deal was available with the Xbox I'd jump on it.

  • such a tempting offer if you dont have xbox360..

    • the deal isnt that tempting, its just simplifying an all in one package which are rarely good value…. the Xbox 360 that is being offered is their 4GB model which RRPs for around $199 even if you add $99 for game etc, it still doesnt make the Dodo bundle any better. if you get internet for $40 or less currently then just go and buy an xbox 360 (250GB) with kinect for $399

      • +1

Don't forget you also get a 25 month Gold subscription to Xbox Live. A one year subscription is $79.95

        • -4

If you don't know where to shop. If pay more than $40 you're an idiot.

        • Some people only buy there games/online content in store. Though you're right, I got 14 months for $44 just a few days ago…

      • Unfortunately there is an error with your calculation. This is the 4GB Xbox 360 with the Kinect Bundle. These packs retail for $299, not $199 as you have stated.

It will take more than xbox for me to put up with dodo's oversold congested network. And if you need support I hope you're good at deciphering Indian accents.

This is a great sounding bargain, but be careful before applying!

I've heard many stories from friends who cancelled their Dodo plans as soon as the contract period ended because the connectivity sucked and their credit cards kept getting charged afterwards.

      Do your research!

  • Guys remember the old Dodo ad it went like this
'Dodo, dodo, the internet that dies, at 9.90 a month connect yourself with dodo'

    • I thought it went

"Dodo, dodo, the internet with flies…"

      • and maybe "9.98 per month" from memory

        • Nine, nine cheap a month.

Songs written by the same people who write all of those instruction manuals we love so much.

  • if already a customer and currently not in 'contract' i can put myself on 24 month contract to get free stuff? :)

EDIT: can't decide as depends when NBN comes to area

    • You can get this offer if you re-contract.

  • i vote negative as this is actually $79 with home phone included!

    • Home Phone connection with Dodo is not a requirement and that is on the $59.90 plan.

We do give the option of the home phone if a customer would like it.

      • +1

but can get a $59 unlimited plan including home phone already through dodo, so why pay another $20 per month just for xbox …deal may only be good for those who intend to use xbox features, but still is not free is a $20 per month add-on

EDIT: by the way i do actually support Dodo, i just do not think this is a great deal for OzB standards

  • Also they where a nightmare to get connected with.

    • They promised me some stuff for joining (free home phone, voucher book worth $$$ etc ) Never seen the stuff, they denied it after signing up.

    • Took 2 weeks to connect me, for this they told me i was getting $25 off my first bill. Never got it, told me they dont do this.

    • Sent me a random for $60 odd dollars after connecting me, that wasnt in the contract. (Managed to get them to pay half)

Now that is connected it is fast and very rarely drops out and as long as i pay my bill i never hear from then.

It sounds like you signed up for a brand new telephone service (as opposed to say changing from Telstra to Dodo).

$59 is the standard fee charged by the owner of your copper phone line for connecting a new phone service and allocating or porting a number to it. If you didn't have an existing copper phone line (eg new house), a fee of up to $299 can be charged. These fees are not known at the time of sign up which could explain why you received the notice after you were connected. Whoever signed you up should've explained this to you.

Two weeks is a long time considering the actual work that needs to be done, but it's probably not Dodo's fault. They probably put through your request to have a phone service connected within a couple of business days of you signing up, the remainder is waiting for a telephone line technician to be available to connect your service.

  • Please let me know which ISP to choose from: Dodo, Exetel, or ClubTelco?

To the guy who said they don't want to speak to "indians" - Every time I have spoken they are friendly filipino's. Far from indian accents. I'm on dodo with a no-contract ADSL and have been for a year..nothing to complain about yet.

  • Hi Rep, i signed with the DODO adsl+2 bundle about a month ago. The bundle includes internet (50gb peak, 50gb off peak), line rental and unlimited national and mobile calls). Am i eligible for this?

    • Hi,

Unfortunately this offer is only valid on the Unlimited plan. From what you have described you have signed up to the 100GB metro plan.

If you did only sign up a month ago and wanted to change, please let me know and I will investigate the possibilities for you.

      • Thanks. How much more would the unlimited cost? I think atm we pay $74 a month. Keen to know if an update in the data plan will make me eligible.

        • Is the home phone bundled on your deal?

Without home phone will be $59.90 pm for 24 months

With home phone $79.80 pm for 24 months.

        • yes, home phone is bundled together. I am keen to upgrade - can you give me the details on how to proceed with this?
ps: you should be able to PM me

        • rep; can you please enable the private message function, so that I can msg you. thanks

  • Hi Rep, Can you bring the old deal back, see link below? As we've got no interest in playing with any of the big console games, thanks.
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/57900

    • This has been noted.

  • I just spoke to Dodo and they want to charge me $59.90 + 20 (for the XBox) + line rental?

    • This reminds me of the tpg issue a while back that ended in huge fines, call them back and remind them of that and if they don't honor the offer then contact the TIO.

    • Hi Bertus,

In order to get the Internet you require a phone line and therefore line rental. You can continue to have your phone line provided from another provider as a separate cost meaning you will only pay the $59.90.

      • I believe the issue is the additional $20 for the Xbox.
It defiantly doesn't help that it isn't spelt out that you need to source your own phone line rental.

Here's an interesting article regarding a very similar situation in which a Internet provider didn't spell out the need for phone line rental.

        http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-06-20/tpg-fined-242m-over-mi…

      • No the rep explaind to mye that it is $59.90 for the internet + $20 for the XBox + I think $20 line rental.

My issue is with the $20 xbox fee. I didn't see that anywhere on the add.

Now I have to add that I'm already a customer thru a business I use to run and is happy with the service they give me.

Until things like this come up.

        • Hi Bertus,

The Rep you spoke to has got this incorrect unless you are not in a metro area. I can confirm the deal for metro is $59.90 for unlimited ADSL and the Xbox bundle included. If you are transferring a phone line from another provider then the total becomes $79.90.

If you know who you spoke to please send me their name.

  • Be good if this deal was available on your NakedDSL plans?

Anyway, how do I check my line to see if I can get your service as I want to switch from my current provider Optus DSL Naked?

I dont have a tel # to enter to check availability?

Also when switching can I keep my current DSL running right up until the day my Dodo plan is live I dont want to loose any down time with no internet?

    Thanks

    • Hi Digital Jade,

Apologies for the late reply. Even though you are on a naked service with Optus the phone line still has a number associated to it. In order to find the number of the land line you will need to plug in a phone and dial 12722123 and the number will be read out.

As with all providers there is some down time associated with switching carriers as the number is churned.

I would suggest checking the availability of your number on the Dodo site first.

      • Awesome, thanks for the helpful reply as nobody has ever told me how to check my Naked DSL line before, so everytime I go to another service provider I get stuck at the "check number availability".

More than likely to switch to you guys simply for the helpful response.

Last thing, are you guys on the Optus or Telstra network?

        Thanks again.

        • Hi Jade,

Glad to hear it. Provider is dependent on your location. The majority of Metro services are Optus while regional is Telstra.

          Hope this helps.

  • Would have gone with it if it had home phone, seeing as my TPG contract ends in about 3 weeks, shame :( Guess Ill just recontract with TPG

  • on dodo adsl 2 plan and the speeds we get are 1/10th of what we got with bigpond cable…stay away

    • adsl and cable are different technologies, your argument is void.

  • As bad as Telstra is if I record all the conversations IDs with them I seem to be able to get things fixed. They've also sent me 2 replacement modems and bumped up my contract to double the data without requiring I re-sign. They are an extra ~$10 or so a month but its worth it.
