    512MB RAM

    That's a bit of a downer…

first thing I noticed…, sad really

      • Yeah, it was looking pretty good at the price point right up to there…

      800 x 480 pixel resolution

Yuck, reminds me of Optus Mytab days…

      • +3

Yeah - probably worth shelling out a little more for a Nexus 7 or Ainol something

      • that's right

      • Can't believe someone is still seling a tablet with this kind of low res.

    • +2

Not just a bit. Personal experience tells a 512M RAM Android tablet is very very very hard to use.

  • If it had gps I would have thought it was ok.

    • If it had HDMI out I'd be happy, cheap media player with net access.

  • +3

Not one of ALDI's better deals, if you're after a tablet I'd be going the Ainol Novo Crystal for the same price with double RAM + better CPU + better display

      You fail.

    • +2

      Should be TimNotTech

      • +1

        TimTam baybe?

        • Yes please! You can lay off on the baby talk though…

    • And you use what? Thought control screen?

      • You fail too. Fails all round.

        • You are hilarious painy, kudos to you.

        • +1

          The other type is resistive.

i'm voting as this is the cheapest tablet yet BUT not great due to screen and memory.

  • CPU - single core …..
    Ram - bad
    Res - yuk
Cams - please, better off not having them

Same price you could go "ainol" and be happy (pun intended :-) )
Or go for a weapon ( nexus 7).

On the Plus side, Aldi will happily refund you within 60 days if you just decide you don't like it. They will also refund you if it breaks at all within a year, again no questions asked and no additional expenditure by the customer.

By those terms you don't have much to lose, you can suck it and see. Sure an Ainol may have better specs (in this budget tablet market we're not talking huge leaps and bounds), but if it arrives DOA, you've probably done your dough.

      • Ainol Crystal owner here. Specs wise, Crystal is better in practically all aspects.

But I agreed with bazzaa points, you will get a better buying experience with ALDI:

        • you get the tablet now instead of at least a month for the Crystal to arrive.
        • you might get an email after a week purchase that they are out of stock.
        • tracking number almost useless (only active a few days before it arrived - that is after 2-3 weeks after your purchase).
  • Out of stock though. But something to gauge by

This comment might cause misunderstanding under different context.
