    Big plus vote!

    Before someone buys them all:
    8. Consumers may submit up to five (5) claims, provided each claim is associated with a separate purchase
of a Participating Product, and can be verified by a separate proof of purchase.

Yeah, lucky jou said thatC Joe.. 'coz I was about to buy ip big and hit eBay with this ish. Yeah…

        Get off the acid.

  • +2 votes

So essentially, this thing is free via cashback redemption?

    •

According to the link, this thing is not only free, but you'll be paid $12.05 in profit as well. Fantastic deal if you are willing to wait up to 60 days for the cash back.

  •

    Is this the right product?
Because Silk Epil 5 on the official Broun site looks different:

    Bought 2
Free Christmas pressies sorted along with the ozsale $1 sunnies
Lets see if i get laid now haha jk

    Thanks OP

    • +3 votes

      "bought" 2

  •

Unless you are into S&M, you definitely need to get paid to use this on yourself. Don't think the cashback quite covers it. Better off getting the cashback and sell the unit to Cash Convertors =P

    • +2 votes

Or give it to your mother-in-law for Christmas ;-)

  •

    EDIT : never mind.

So we can claim and then can also return it and get more money back ? ;)

hahahaha i like the way you think… :D

    • +2 votes

It's been Ozbargained, so consider "interfered" ….. lol ;)

      •

gonna have to agree here, the part where it says "for any reason" really gives them the discretion to cancel the cashback's for abusing the system in this case, i'm not confident braun will pay out on these, especially if you went ahead and buy/bought 5, buyer beware

        • +2 votes

Reminds me of the HP cashback offers!!
          Instead of 5 x wii's I got 5 x $400 cheques because they couldnt provide the wii's in time!

          That was gold!

  • +1 vote

so is there still some uncertainty with this?

    EDIT: i guess there's a little

  •

Anyone know if Harvey Norman counts as a participating retailer?

    • +1 vote

To enter: Purchase a Participating Product during the Purchase Period from any retailer and send by mail
      (1) completed coupon (attached to these terms & conditions or available at www.braun.com/au), and
      (2) a photocopy of the purchase receipt, to:
Braun Xmas Promotion, PO Box 397, Brookvale NSW 2100

      •

        Ah yep, thanks!

  • +1 vote

    i bought 5 of these
    selected 'store pickup'

    total: $57 X5 = $285

    Cashback: $75 X 5 = $375

    $90 as xmas gift?

    Thanks OP & Braun :)

      separate purchase?

of a Participating Product, and can be verified by a separate proof of purchase.

      •

        yes separate purchase :)

    • +1 vote

I hope you purchased them all as separate transactions :)

Edit - Beat me by 5 seconds!

      •

also forgot to mention - I used AMEX and get points (I have a card that gives me 3 points per dollar)

$285 = 855 points, which converts to $4 when you claim cashback on CBA awards points hahaha

        • +1 vote

Which card is that and what is the fee may I ask?

        •

It's the Platinum one. Yearly fee is $250 but I got the fee waived last month as CommBank promised me that the fee would be charge in March 2013 but they charged me in November 2012 instead (a few weeks after I got the card).
Called them up and complained of being poor, it worked

        •

Oh it's not QFF points is it??

    • -1 vote

      I bought 5 too!

    • -1 vote

      me too…

  •

Tempting… but I'm gonna hold off on this bargain for now.

    • -1 vote

its free anyway in the next 60 days :)

    •

      Dont hold off too long!

      Offer ends 9th December 2012!

  • +2 votes

    Sounds legit. Thanks

  •

    getting 5 is risky …
I am gonna to buy one for myself..

    •

should be fine as long as they are all in separate purchases?

i guess the promoter set this condition so that it is easier for them to work through the cashbacks

  •

How long after placing the order to pick up in store, did they contact you to say it was ready to pick up?

    Thanks!

  • -3 votes

how abt if you buy more than one in single transaction?

  • +8 votes

The weird thing is that I literally just looked down at my legs before and thought "I should invest in an epilator". Logged onto OzB not even 5 minutes after and this was the first post that came up .. it's a sign.

    • +12 votes

I also looked down and thought the same but just not at my legs

      • +1 vote

        Giggity

      • +1 vote

        Hairy toes eh?

  • +1 vote

How abt we buy five but ask them to issue separate invoice for each item? (IN THE SAME STORE)

Or how abt if we purchase online, every time we just select one and pay one? And then do the same process for the remainder 4. In this case, HN will issue us 5 separate invoices?

    • +1 vote

If they issue separate invoices, then you have separate proofs of purchase and you will qualify.

About purchasing online and doing 1 at a time… Everyone is already doing that and you will definitely get 5 different invoices.

    • +14 votes

Is it really so hard to add and extra 2 letters to 'abt' seriously.. abOUt

    Oh These are female shavers!????
    Brailian time?

Pretty sweet deal! Time to scam harvey normans back! Stick it to him!

  •

    thx OP, bought 2

  • -1 vote

So i guess there is no returning them to harvey normans until after you get cashback? (on account of braun wanting the receipt number to check if the item has been returned or not)

EDIT: yes I intend to keep 2 of the 3 i bought

  •

    sweeet

    •

Yes, that or a petrol line trimmer would do the trick..

  •

Is it 5 per house hold?
    or
5 x credit card? he he

FREE XMAS gifts for all your female friends!!! HERE WE GO!

    •

      Or 5 per Name?

Therefore allowing the use of the same credit card hypothetically for 15 products, 3 different names?

      • +2 votes

Well it's chques so unless you have alternative names you can only redeem 5 x name? But does that mean other people in the house can also redeem it?

What if you use your work address?

        The possibilities are endless!

You could have enough shavers to give free out on the street to every hairy chick on the street or hot chick and make heaps of friends! :D

  •

Actually you have to wait up to 4 months to get your cash back if you just bought it today and the offer is valid for this shaver.

Promotion only applies to the following products (“Participating Products”), which must be
purchased on or between 20th September 2012 to 31st January 2013 (“Purchase Period”):

cash back will be provided via cheque within 60 working days of receiving claim.

other question is is it for female or male?

Promotion clearly stated cash back offer for Male Shavers, Series 5 Epilators only and i can see anywhere on HN website saying $75 cash back offer.
i will just wait and see. plenty time ( still have 2 months to purchase if the $75 offer is valid for this product)). no rush
Thanks for sharing OP. have a nice day

    • +2 votes

      It is valid.

Receive up to $100 cash back when you purchase a Braun Series 7, Series 5 and selected Series 3 shavers, Silk-épil 7 and Silk-épil 5 epilator and Multiquick 5 hand blender from a participating store.*

The $57 one is "Braun 'Silk Epil 5' Epilator"

    • +1 vote

There's no male version of the series 5 epilator…

  • +3 votes

This doesn't sound like a legit 'cashback'. It's more like a refund from head office because you bought their product and weren't satisfied with it. Buying this with the intention of getting a refund, before even trying it, does not sound legit. I'd be weary they don't catch on to this. Especially those of us who bought 5. -_o

    •

But there's nothing against it, no terms and conditions against it whatsoever…

    •

The rrp is like $99, harvey normans is just having a "deal" and I use that term loosely.

    • +1 vote

No the deal is legit. If you click on the first link posted by the op, it IS actually a regular cash-back offer.

The second part of his/her post mentioning the satisfaction-guaranteed thing is different (not really sure it belongs in the bargain post)

  • +8 votes

Man this has been an epic time for me!

    • Free flights and accommodation with the 12 bottles of wine ($180 total for myself + fiance)
    • Free T.M. Lewin tie for myself + father with the chivas regal
    • $25 for $50 iTunes gift cards for xmas
    • $110 worth of westfield vouchers for $102
    • $110 worth of myer vouchers for $100
    • Now I'm getting paid for these free epilators :D

    Cheers OP!

  •

    Another free lunch deal?

  •
