  • Can you combine it with this for a further 10% off? http://www.powerbuy.com.au/dell-xps-13-laptops-coupon/

Looks like they're only discounting this because the new Ivy Bridge is finally out.

    • The coupons will generally replace the "cash off" meaning the price will actually increase.

      • Darn. I had no idea.
When there was a cash off discount last time I could stack that % coupon on top.

  • +3

if anyone is considering in this there is what i feel to be a better deal in the outlet atm, only one available though. includes an ivy bridge i5-3317U which is actually pretty much on par with the sandy bridge i7-2637M, 8gb ram instead of 4gb, intel 4000 graphics which is a pretty decent step up from the intel 3000 graphics, windows 8 instead of windows 7; $1049.

  • Three weeks ago I bought the same model directly from the Dell website albeit with the i5-2467M processor (1.60 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 2.30 GHz) for $899. Yes, slightly slower but 10% cheaper… that works for me.

  • keen! would really like to pick one of these up.. the lack of an optical drive annoys me.

    • +1

      get an usb external drive

      • Yeah, true. Had contemplated that, any suggestions on quality ones to go for?

  • Anyone know why Dell AU got rid of blu-ray as an option on XPS? I am aware I could buy an external blu ray drive for under 200 (or even 150) but the utility of it is much better if it is integrated into the unit. Less cumbersome.

    • I think the reason they got rid of of the drive is to make way for better heat distribution and that most people have started using iso's for their disks…

      • You can plug in a USB device into a many of the newer tv's, hi fi systems now.

With external storage being so cheap for backup purposes, the days of the dvd/blue ray are numbered I reckon might end up like the floppy disk.

  • At this time of the year, giving a 2nd generation for 999 seems unfair.
