Hi i just found another deal from amazon. For those with mos still from movember you can shave it off in style. This shaver is better than the last one posted as that was only 2D. This one is 3D, though im not entirely sure what that means. Make sure you clip the coupon for $50 off. With shipping for a grand total of $100.97 USD or roughly $96.40AUD. Even cheaper if you have that $5 coupon from yesterday. Should ship in a couple of days so plenty of time left for christmas.
These sell for about $200 on ebay. Don't even think about it Broden!

If you like, please use my affiliate link:

EDIT: The 1250x is still in stock but only in the frustration free packaging. Shipping time is between 2-5 weeks though so might not get it in time for Chrismas. Hope you all have a good one.

  • Great shaver! I bought this from amazon earlier in the ear for around $140. Well worth the money!

  • Useing the Amazon to exhange it to AUD I got it for $99.99
Did not get or use the $5 coupon.

  • Lucky I waited. Just bought one. Awesome.

  • Got one thanks. Paid 99.99. I have been holding off getting one (hoping for an OzBargain) even though my 15 year old shaver is hopeless.
    Cheers!

  • About $92 AUD with the coupon and exchange rate is a steal cheers

  • +1

I use the superior DE razor

  • dudes, I am getting $141.99 listed for price, has the bargain finished?

    • Me too!

      • +2

Don't forget to clip the coupon guys. Gives $50 off

        • thanks cameron! I am blind, lol.

Another question: Since it's american electronics, should I get a step-down transformer to be able to power/charge it?

        • +1

Shavers are usually 100-240V so can use them world wide without a transformer. All you probably need is a cheap $1 adaptor.

      • you have to clip the coupon

    • Did you remember to use the $50 coupon that's on the page?
      Edit: what he said ^^

    • Click on the $50 coupon. Can only see this if you are on the full site.

  • Is this good for body hair too?

    • +1

i prefer a clipper for body hair

  • +9

Do you have to buy the 3D glasses separately?

  • +5

Gonna buy one for my ex wife's beard. Thanks!

    • You married a man?

      • +4

Why would you give anything to an ex?

  • Nice

  • I want to get the one with Jet clean system, only $30 more! But they don't ship to Aus. Damn!

    • I have this shaver. I too like you wanted a jet clean system.
But I bought it without it. You really don't need it.
The shaver cleans in under 10 sec.

Just pop the clips - 2 sec.
Put it under water for 8 sec and you are done.

Buy this thing .. ITS JUST GREAT.

  • +1

Just wanted to mention the blades on this baby cost $50 to replace

    • +2

ebay is the best place I've found for saving money on replacement Philips blades/heads. If you disassemble and clean them thoroughly with an old toothbrush and metho every 12 months, in my experience they last for several years even if used daily.

      • Thanks for the advice, that'll come in super handy!

  • +1

Never looked into electric razors before. How often would you expect to replace them?

    • I've never had a Philips shaver break down or wear out in 20+ years of using them. After about 5 years there's generally a bargain price on a model with more features and I upgrade. The old ones are still around in a drawer somewhere, just in case.

  • +1

I own one of these - I bought it in September 2011 having never used an electric razor before and it's fantastic. I'm told the 3D has more blades in the head than the 2D and therefore gives a much smoother shave - I think it's a far better model for people with sensitive skin. Also the sideburn/hair trimmer attachment is built into this model while on the 2D you have to take the shaving head off and replace it with the trimmer.

Blades are supposed to last about 12 months to be honest I found mine going blunt after about 9 months - and it cost me around 60 dollars to replace. I think it was worth it though - great shaver.

  • Due for a new electric razor, bought.

  • +1

Thanks Mate, I used your affiliate link but I clicked on the regular link first (and then closed the page). Hope you still get the credit.

    • Thanks for that. Have a merry Christmas dude.

  • Very tempting, ive been looking at purchasing an electric razor for quite a while. Can someone advise how this razor compares to a traditional shaver (i.e. shaving foam and a manual razor) in terms of closeness of shave and comfort?

  • Saw this for $249 at David Jones

  • -1

    Bloody hell, cheaper again!

  • Thanks for posting.

  • I still prefer disposable blades (use a Gillette fusion power or something) but great deal considering they are around $250 from Bing Lee and most places. Props to you good sir.

  • this is Great!! i have a 1260 with the jet clean, but quite frankly, the jet clean system is close to useless. i have only used that twice in the last 12 months. i am getting this one for dad's birthday, best buy on ebay is $180 AUD delivered. $100 on amazon is pretty damn awesome.

did i say this is one great shaver? the trimming blade is good too. despite the higher cost of replace the blades, it's still pretty damn good.

  • Hmm this or a foil shaver? Can't stand my basic Philips rotary shaver at the moment!

  • Lots of reviews on other sites (Amazon for instance) about the charger being finicky and hair falling out whenever you have to tip it upside down such as when using the trimmer. For those that have one, are they just whinging or are they really that much of an issue?

    • They are just whinging. I love mine. Buy it and you won't regret it.

  • The 1150 deal is also back on again with $20 coupon, $56 + postage.

  • I've been using one of these since last year (same model) when it was posted ozbargain.
I like it, it shaves well, little irritation, better than other Philips' models i've used before.
Charging time is great, full charge is something like within 1 hour, my last Philips took 8 hours to full charge.

Just be aware that there is a problem with these models. After a few months, mine just stopped and refused charge and was completely dead. I called Philips Australia and told them I bought it overseas and they said they would honour the warranty until I said it was purchased from Amazon, then suddenly their tone changed and said that I would have to take it up with Amazon. As a sign of good faith, they offered to sell me one direct (they normally don't sell to the public) for about $240 which was good for Aussie prices at the time but I had paid $160 on Amazon.

I complained to Amazon and they offered a partial refund (15% or something) and after I explained that that was a useless offer as I would have a useless paper weight and speaking with a manager (over live chat), they agreed to refund in full the item and then I bought another one from them. The replacement has been going strong for about 9 months.

    • -2

      Mine stopped dead too.

It is supposed to be waterproof, but I suspect water got in it.

My solution was to buy a brand new one from amazon and return the 3 month old one back to amazon in the packaging for the new one. Amazon have a money back policy for faulty items within (I think) 30 days.

As the new one was less than 30 days old I got my money back. I have no ethical problems with playing amazon in this fashion.

      • That's not a bad idea ha.

        • -3

really , Amazon usually refunds me the item when I'm not happy with it , and i get to keep the item too lol

Happened with a some diesel shoes that I didn't like ($65), and leather gloves that were a tiny bit big on my fingers ($50)

I was honest with amazon and they still refunded

        • Yeah, actually I'm surprised he didn't try to be legitimate first.

        • -2

i think that we don't realise that Amazon is a multi-billion dollar company and a couple of hundred dollars wont put them out of business
They are still built on the business model that customers are always right and would go to any reasonable length to retain a customer

        • A couple of hundred dollars won't, but there are other people in the world too - if 50,000 others did the same, suddenly $200 becomes $10 million.

Hopefully the numbers are low enough for Amazon to continue their policy. It's a pretty good one.

  • Great bargain. Only thing that sucks is that the coupon is one per customer :( I wanted to buy another one for a friend.

    • +1

      Create another amazon account?

    • +1

You can buy another one by using no frustration packaging if you picked the retail packaging on the first order and should have the clip the coupon for it too so technically you can buy 2 at the same price. It works the other way round also.

  • Bought for my brother for Christmas - thank you :)

  • Tempting… I've been using a Gilette razor once a week or so, but if this is quicker and easier… It might well be worth it.

  • +3

Only shave once or twice a week, but in true ozbargain spirit I bought one.

  • good deal , but i only clip now and have the dirty bad boy look lol
the girls like it and i guess its healthier for the skin

  • Great shaver.
Bought one for myself about 6 months back from amazon US for $135.
Its a massive saving compared to what you might get in a retail store in australia. They are selling for around $250 and up. Must by is you are thinkng about getting an electric shaver.

    ITS JUST AN AMAZING SHAVER>

  • Would this work for shaving your head smooth ?

    • I tried doing that..
You can but I would not recommend it. I just use a remington clipper with zero number.

  • How does this compare with Panasonic ES-LA63?

    http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-ES-LA63-S-Multi-Flex-Dual-Mo…

  • Came in at $96.71 paying with my bankwest MasterCard.

    • You will probabaly have to pay a foreign transaction fee to your bank though?

    • Nah, thats ~$4 more than the actual exchange rate, so surely that includes the fee.

  • Yet another impulse OzB buy.
Must admit though, this is almost as cheap as buying a new set of three rotary blades from ripoff Shaver Shop.
    Thanks OP

  • What's the deal with the power. Will you need a US to AUS adapter?

    • Should just need a plug adapter ($1-$2).

  • Thanks OP, ended up getting a 1250x for my dad and a 1150 for myself.

  • +1

I'm finding it won't ship to Australia upon checkout, what am I doing wrong?

    • +1

Make sure it is shopped and sold by Amazon. Otherwise try the frustration free packaging. Should work.

      • +1

It will not allow me to ship to Australia as well, How do you change the shipping to frustration free packaging?

Edit: Never mind, got it to ship to Australia. Strange, but it would not allow me to ship to Australia initially, but I cleared my account and then logged out and logged back in and all was fine.

      • Got it working, thanks for your help

    • 1150X no longer shipping to Australia
1250X retail vers no longer shipping to Australia

      • Thanks op, ordered last night

  • Thanks OP - ordered (frustration free packaging) last night. I had been waiting for a sale on these for about a year - I'm glad I didn't miss out!
For those still trying, ensure the seller is "Amazon" not some other seller (that's what the link took me to initially). Also, as mentioned, change from to frustration free packaging and it will be delivered to Aus.

    • Having no luck currently with this. I've selected Amazon as the seller and selected Frustration Free Packaging. Is that correct? Maybe they've shut the gate so to speak.

      • Yep having the same issue! Anyone have any tips?

I've selected Frustration Free Packaging but I can't seem to see anywhere to choose Amazon as the seller (or change it to any other seller in fact). Thanks for any help.

        • Looks like both options are in stock now, what are you having trouble with?

You need to clip the coupon a few lines under the price, add to your cart and then at checkout select to apply the coupon.

        • Hi ory,

I've just tried with both the normal packaging and the frustration-free packaging with the same error.

          I get the message:
"Philips Norelco 1250X/46 SensoTouch 3D Electric Razor, Frustration Free Packaging cannot be shipped to the selected address." (to an Aussie address)

Tried clearing cookies, logging on and off, different browsers with no luck.

          Thanks for your help!

        • +1

Yeah I am getting the same now. Weird usually when logged in it says in the product page that item can't be shipped to my default shipping address. Also looks like Price for the normal one has gone back up to $213 and the coupon is no longer available.

  • Thanks after being indecisive about the last deal, got one (using affiliate link)!

Hopefully it will be friendly to my very sensitive neck.

  • +1

You have got to be kidding!!!
Just received my order from Amazon!!!!
That's 3 days from when I ordered it.
Still waiting for the HN epilator that I ordered though.
Gee Gerry, I wonder why online shopping is becoming so popular?????

    • Yeah should be getting mine tomorrow. Damn it's quick! Had I ordered earlier Friday, I would have it today.

      • Should get mine today as well. It only took 1 business day to get to NSW since they posted it, very nice.

        • Mine just got "Forwarded to delivery" which means they apparently gave it to Australia Post.

          Damn it.

  • Just got mine, but haven't received my US-AU adapter I ordered on the same day from Sydney.
    Wow.

    • lol

Mine was in Sydney on Monday but I still haven't got it yet. Tracking says-

December 10, 2012 Sydney XX AU Arrival Scan
December 11, 2012 New South Wales Outlying Areas XX AU Arrival Scan
December 11, 2012 New South Wales Outlying Areas XX AU Local carrier will deliver the package within 2 business days. No additional tracking information is available.

It will probably take three times as long to get from Sydney to me (NSW) than it took for it to get from the USA to Sydney.

  • Expired!

  • Has anyone who have bought this after the 12th of December received theirs yet?
Mine was estimated to arrive on the 20th but hasn't :(

So far mine is currently at:
December 14, 2012 04:45:47 PM US Departure Scan
December 13, 2012 12:35:57 PM Des Plaines IL US Shipment received by carrier

I'm hoping there are others on the same boat as me so I can have some peace of mind.

    • Yup, am in that boat with you. Same tracking info ( or lack of it).
Pity really as it was Xmas pressie to me from kids
Now they won't have anything to wrap:(

  • For info, anyone that is still waiting for delivery
I sent a complaint to amazon about late delivery & received (an auto reply) with apology & refund of postage @ US$ 9
That means the shaver now comes with free shipping for about $91
OK, so i havent got it yet, but the Ozbargainer inside of me still wants a deal!

    • Would be good to get a better deal out of it as they did offer "frustration free postage", and I'm starting to get a bit upset that it has not arrived yet. Bought this for my brother for christmas, had to buy him a little something extra so he isn't the only one without a gift to unwrap!
