+1 votebrentsbits on 31/12/2012 - 08:48 ¶I'm in Melbourne, I ship them out pretty quick by regular post.
HcNguyen111 on 31/12/2012 - 21:34 ¶I got 2 from the last batch and received them in 5 days. (Melbourne —> Sydney) Probs. doesn't help considering i'm late 13 hours, but just saying that it's better than waiting 3+ weeks for the same thing from offshore.
cornucopia on 31/12/2012 - 08:53 ¶Not a bad local price. eBay cheapest from China 0.99c + 0.99c so a bit cheaper but can take up to 3 weeks to arrive!!

Thanks, even though it's not a large purchase, it's good that you make post-purchase support a priority as well. I think that's the problem with any sort of business, post-support, it's the only way to keep customers and bring more in. It's tough competition out there, so all the best.
SpaceNinja on 31/12/2012 - 09:00 ¶These are not USB car chargers; These are USB car charger adapters.
+1 votebrentsbits on 31/12/2012 - 09:02 ¶Good point, I'll edit now. Although, I would love to be able to run my car from USB, would be much cheaper.

-1 votebrentsbits on 31/12/2012 - 09:03 ¶Phones as a general rule are about 1A, tablets and such are 2A. This isn't a hard and fast rule of course but it's a fairly accurate generalisation.
+2 votesTo conform with USB all devices must:
- Work for coms at 100mA
- Work at 500mA on a computer
- Work at 1.8A on a dedicated charger
So everything will charge at 500mA (OK they don't have to, but if they don't you will be really annoyed), and shouldn't draw more than 1.8A.
Where you may get into trouble is that if this uses a termination resistor on D+/D- then that indicates to the device that it can draw 1.8A, which is not the case (and doesn't conform to the standard). If it doesn't have the resistor then it confirms and devices will charge at 500mA (slowly).
No device (tablet or otherwise) should ever draw 2A from USB (doesn't mean that they don't).

Assuming that your device and this thing both comply it means:
Your device will charge at 500mA (slowish).
If one or both don't comply then one of two things will happen:
A: Your device will charge at any rate from nothing up to 1A
B: Your device will draw too much and the charger will fail (unlikely).

I don't see the bargain here?
$1 from eBay;

+1 voteI don't know what you think you are doing that for. I GUESS that you mean add a termination resistor across the data pins, indicating that 1.8A is available, then wait and see if the smoke gets let out when you try to charge something. Personally, I wouldn't do this.
garglebutt on 31/12/2012 - 09:39 ¶Grabbed a couple while there were 56 left and by the time I completed there were 0. Both cars covered now.
-1 voteOnly $3 from the "reject shop" and comes in 'Apple white'. 5v/500ma
I bought one the other day, perfect.
I also got one with a "good quality" charging/data cable for iphone3/4 and with cigarette charger for $5.
i thought that was better value and i had it straight away :)
gandhi28152 on 31/12/2012 - 09:40 ¶wondering, can i use this for other brand mobile phone instead of apple iphones?

If you can wait, Ali Express has some good prices for quantities of 10. Cheap enough to give to people for no reason at all.
-1 voteGot mine for a dollar, posted to me from Hong Kong. Admittedly, it took about 10-20 days, but I got it and wasn't in a huge rush…
I'm sure these are better quality, but I'd rather buy 3 for a dollar and replace when they break than buy one for $2.45 which I can't replace without paying double.

I can vouch for the seller, but it will take 10-20 days to get to you.

These must cost you like 10c to buy. $2.45 including shipping. Your ebay fees must be nearly a $1, your shipping cost must be at least 60c (plus envelope) and you need to still make some profit!
Great price, don't know how you do it at that price!!
