Optus 3.5G is OK, its speed is comparable to my home Bigpond ADSL2+. Bigpond ADSL2+ is not fast in my area, around 12 Mbps tested by http://www.cnet.com.au/broadband-speedtest/.

I got this phone for my MIL, I rang the sales number and they gave me 10% off for putting it on my account ($45 a month) and the first month free. If you don't want it on your account they will give you a $30 referal fee and the first month free, I didn't even ask for it it was just offered. In case anyone was wanting to get it (extra $165 off)

cant see a bargain at all.
