  I would assume so, but the UK and Aus voltage is the the same.
  
  Just buy a new plug from Bunnings for around $3-$4 and put it on you'll have no issue. When I moved here from England I did that to all my electronics bar my laptop power adapter - all the ones I still have work fine.

IS STYLING YOUR HAIR A NIGHTMARE??

This is the straightener for crazy, wild, frizzy, uncontrollable hair, is that correct? Is it still ok for reasonably naturally straight long (blonde) hair?

  As far as I know, its just wider at the end, so shouldn't see a problem.

For anyone wondering if it's ok to buy for Australia then:

GHD has an internationally recognised warranty - so if it breaks here, it's all good if it's from the UK

Has a 2 Year Warranty

There's no voltage problems at all - the GHD has a universal voltage capability

Yes it will come with a UK 3-pin Adaptor - but you can usually remove this and you will have left a the 2 round pin plug; Then simply apply your 2 pin to Aussie adapter! Problem Solved!

I bought one of these for Christmas 2011 for my GF, they were regularly these prices ($100) when imported from UK. Not sure if this is still the case based on your comment. I would recommend ASOS though if they still sell them, much much better to deal with than this horrible store. They used to be on sale once in a while at Asos, and often you could find a code to reduce it further to around $100.

EDIT: just realised this is the saloon style and not the normal one. My comment was in regards to the normal one, no idea if this one is more expensive or not.

EDIT: had a quick look at asos, looks like they've increased their prices significantly.. still wouldn't recommend the store above, but good luck to everyone ordering. Also realised that my numbers were slightly off, so I've adjusted them.
