Looks identical, weighs 227g, according to specs.
Also comes with an extra battery, built in analog TV receiver and no Kogan badge! :)

Of course it will not be Retina screen or Quad Core processor, at least it still have Android ICS in there. Good to give to children or old people that need a basic phone with the occasional web surfing and casual game.
+1 votestargalaxy on 10/01/2013 - 13:47 ¶I suspect it will stalled frequently if you open too many applications much because it only have 512mb of RAM, my old Galaxy S1 used to do that, this one at least is dual core processor, so would not know how it will perform. If you are heavy user, I would not recommend it as the stalling will make you crazy and you will want to throw the phone against the wall.
+5 votesEngadget has the review of this phone!

and it stated with 512mb of ram on the article

I worked with a guy that had one and it worked great. It was just a simple nokia, not an android device, but it was great. He had different ringtones for each sim as well.
I saw a guy in a minibus one day pull out 4 different phones from his pocket, each with a different provider, sure beats doing that…

+5 votesonly 1 advise, dont buy kogan branded products especially the cheap ones are extremely crappy. bought a kogan PAP player (PS vita clone) for 49 and it was absolutely terrible out of the box the screen cover was not applied properly and felt very cheap like buying from the streets of thailand cheap. absolutely no use at all. my advise dont buy them and save your money.

The phone looks like a Star phone from China, maybe a Star N9330:-

Generally Star phones look like Samsungs, whereas Hero phones look like Apple copies.
Can anyone confirm?
+1 voteOooooh.. SO CLOSE!
Looks like it's the Star N8000+ !!

Imagine me surpreez, it's just some rebadged crap…
Edit: And for anyone wanting to pull a Kogan;
http://www.aliexpress.com/store/group/5-6-Phone-Tablet/80323...Feel free to bulk buy! :P

I'd say you're right. The Star N8000 is actually not a bad phone by Chinese standards, gets pretty good reviews on Amazon anyway:-

I agree with other posters about Kogan's rebadging of the phone, it certainly does nothing to inspire confidence in me.

… The device doesn’t support 4G, instead one slot is 2G and one slot is 3G.
… Ruslan Kogan told us that he’s not sure about future updates to Jelly Bean and onwards but is still in negotiations with the as yet undisclosed manufacturer.
We’re hands on with the device right now and it feels smooth and zippy. The screen is bright and vibrant the price is stellar.

Does it look crap when viewed from an angle? The cheapo Android tablets are not IPS screens. They're TN. They look like junk if viewed slightly off angle. Very dark.
johneliot1978 on 10/01/2013 - 14:30 ¶Why would one buy this as opposed to somthing like the star b92m?
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Star-B92M-S3-4-7-IPS-Capaciti...Just asking, because I am in the market and have looked at both. I realise the b92m is about $30 more, but once the mtk6589 is out this would probably drop fairly fast?
+1 votejohneliot1978 on 10/01/2013 - 15:04 ¶"beaten to the kok"! sounds like something entirely different in in bad english :D
But yeah, interesting to see all the kogan flame, haven't bought anything from them, and don't think I will now. May as well just try my luck on the star b92m or something similar. http://www.aliexpress.com isnt too bad for getting refunds either. I got a partial refund through them no problems when part of my mk808 android tv stick (the usb psu) wasn't included.
+7 votesMy Note 2 clone should be getting delivered today (Star S7180). Paid $165, 1gig ram, 5.3" and qHD (540x960) [yes I know it's not great specs, but as I'm sure you all know I'm a rather fanatical Apple fan and just wanted an Android phone to play around with].
But, back on topic. This is exactly why I HATE Kogan. He just browsers Alababa or whatever, finds some generic old model Chinese crap, get's them to stick his logo on the back and claims to have created the thing. Like his involment somehow makes for a higher quality product.
The part that really bugs me is the media keeps giving him attention! There is nothing special about his products, his company or him.

I'm not sure the phone will give the greatest impression, but I think it's great that you're trying. Few things annoy me more than uninformed people that just follow the prevailing opinion, and stick to it religiously (whether they be Android, WP or iPhone users)
emeraldpiggy on 10/01/2013 - 17:08 ¶Hi there
So how did it go? I am intended to get one too,the quoted price is $183 USD with ems.
+1 voteAnother agora product shudder
Got the agora tablet for my old man when it came out.
Opened it up, charged it up, turned it on.
Turned it back off straight away and returned it.Bad bad bad experience with kogan branded technology.
All i can say is to steer clear. Very very clear.
+1 voteApparently it can be installed without too much trouble

+1 votehkalanshiu on 14/01/2013 - 23:01 ¶i believe i had used the exact same one (chinese knock off of the galaxy note), with the exact specs etc… a few months ago…. it was usable… until all the 512mb ram got used up… (trust me, it is very quick, especially when whatsapp skype and then chrome got opened)
and the screen went wrong after 2 months, had to send it back to China to be fixedit is quite responsive though… but of course, cant compare it to the S3 or One X… but it is quite on par with the S2

590g weight? That sounds like a pretty heavy phone!
