+1 voteGot one as well in the $250 deal, and it's an excellent monitor. The 16:9 ratio can cause people problems because it means the monitor does not have the 1200 lines needed for certain resolutions (for example, 1600x1200 is not supported). But for gaming and Blu-ray, it's better than 16:10 monitors as you don't get letterboxing - playing Fallout 3 on it, a game designed for 16:9 monitors, is excellent.
samwise_777 on 23/01/2009 - 20:33 ¶Price has come down from $499 to $469 which is good to see. I ended up getting the E248wfp 16:10 monitor for $299 instead of this one. Not because of the extra pixels or that its any better, just coz i missed the $250 deal on this one. They are great bargains for the price, not comparable to any high end monitors obviously, but fine for gaming, movies, browsing, word processing

If the code isnt working, if ur a member of RACV, RACQ, NRMA etc. type eg: www.dell.com.au/racv
then enter your card number and name, then you get a code and copy that and go to monitors find the monitor and enter it there. But it should work now.
+1 voteJust in case this discount code goes away, you use RWD$XJB5D9D5SJ on the Small Business site to get 10% as well.
Other coupons are here: http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/topics/promo.aspx/au%2fen%2f... if anyone's interested. 10%'s about the best they're doing for these.

I've been looking at this monitor for a couple of weeks now - glad I waited a bit longer before buying.
What do people think about the extra 2 Year Advanced Exchange Service (on top of the 3 years) for $58 (less the 10% discount)? My last experience with a Dell monitor was that it stopped working not long after the warrenty was up.

for those wondering what it looks like

bargainhunter on 24/01/2009 - 17:27 ¶Et tu brutus, what do you use for sound with your xbox setup? My brother was looking at an LCD for his kids xbox. Cheers

Be careful with the above coupon code guys. I used it to ordered the monitor, but then got contacted by DELL asking to verify my EPP details (Employee, Student or Member program - see www.dell.com.au/epp). Consequently, I had to cancel the order.

If you arent a member of a valid company or university, but are a RACV, RACQ, RACT member etc - use the link above to get the same discounts: www.dell.com.au/racv
Wow_This_Is_Heaven on 25/01/2009 - 20:19 ¶whats all this about the $250 deal seems like a massive bargain
+1 voteA while ago, Dell had dropped the price for this monitor until a certain date, then there was a small business coupon which furthur reduced on top of the sale.
That brought it to $255.18..One just can't resist.. $255 for a 24" monitor. lol
BTW. very nice monitor and awesome price. don't think we'll ever see it at $255 again though. A little unimpressed about the viewing angle, but it's still good.

I hate DELL! Especially after the PCs debacle.

Scored this monitor almost 6 months ago when it was mistakenly priced down to $250. Not looking back :). Although it does not have all the bells and whistles of the higher priced monitors, its still beautiful. Would seriously consider getting another one of these if i had enough deskspace :P
