Hi Alan,
At the moment its taking the networks a long time in some cases to reply to enquiries, we’re trying to get them to adopt a better process to track and respond to queries but we can’t force them to unfortunately. The two months is generally the time it takes for a merchant via a network to pay out to us, and that time allows for canceled and returned items which results in the loss of moneyback.
We’d obviously like it to be much faster too…
Hope this helps?
Cheers, Steve

Hi Alan,
If you look at the business model of Money Back companies, a big chunk of their profit comes from unclaimed or unprocessed amounts which means it’s intentional to delay processing claims and related queries so that some of the buyers forget about their claims.
Two months is insane. The maximum it should take them is 1-2 weeks considering there are two other parties involved and each can take 2-3 days to respond to queries.
Thanks
Unless the other party they are dealing with is DGM, which has sloooow reports comparing to ClixGalore and CommissionMonster…
Unfortunately some merchants are only partnered with DGM, especially those high profile ones like Dell and Apple :(
Sorry cstt1922 thats simply not true.
Delays are due to the restrictions imposed by the affiliate networks not intentional delays by us. The delay in receiving money from the merchant via the network which is in the order of 60 days is due to the fact that most merchants offer refund or cancellation services and as such they need to be sure that a sale item isn’t going to be returned before paying out commission for that item, and thats just business sense.
When it comes to transactions which fail to track we are totally in the hands of the affiliate network and the merchants themselves. We send enquiries off to the network associated every 2 weeks and we then have to wait for them to contact the merchant and for them to approve or decline the claim. You have to understand that affiliate networks receive thousands of transactions a day and that the merchant will be handling hundreds if not thousands of orders a day, and so when we submit an enquiry for one sale, the network has to find the corresponding click and then ask the merchant for their view on the transaction. A merchant isn’t going to necessarily make it a top priority to track down a single order for which they’ll then have to pay a commission on.
In general we’ve found clix and CommissionMonster to be pretty responsive with enquiries, sending them off to the merchants fairly quickly, whereas DGM is not so pro-active, but you need to remember that its in the networks’ interest too to get a missed transaction re-instated as they will get their cut of it.
Basically what I’m saying is that delays in processing of payments and enquires is out or our hands and totally refute your assertion that we deliberately delay the process ourselves in the hope that the claim is forgotten about, remember if the transaction hasn’t tracked then the only real winner is the merchant as they’ve had a sale for which they haven’t had to pay commission on.
Cheers Steve.
Hi Steve,
I am well aware of this entire system. You are basing your response on the premise that if transaction is not claimed, no commission will be paid by the merchant. How can that be when somebody clicks through your page to a merchant page and as soon he or she makes a purchase, the sale is credited into your account (Moneyback in this case). Now if no claim is made by the customer, you pocket that money and not the merchant.
So in this entire chain, if there are any delays, they would only benefit Moneybackco and not anyone else.
Thanks
I’m sorry but it just doesn’t work like that, why not register with an affiliate network yourself, I’m sure you will just dismiss whatever I try to explain so the best way would be to research it properly yourself before making further comment.
Cheers Steve.
I am with cstt1922! MBC would make a hell of a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ from unclaimed transactions!
Hey Steve,
Just want to let you know that you’re doing a great job.
Cheers B
I have not used MBC much, or for very long, infact I haven’t had a payout… yet. But, given that most transaction automatically start tracking after purchase, it is difficult for the customer to ‘forget’ about the transaction. Their MBC account automatically pops up with all the details.
The only ones which could be ‘forgotten’ about are those which, for some reason, don’t automatically track. Now, I’m sure this does happen from time to time (but presumably not regularly), and when it does I’m sure most customers would submit an enquiry form and get it sorted.
How about giving MBC some of the benefit of the doubt eh? :)
I’ve been using MBC for moths now. I would say 20% - 30% of my transactions are not tracked. I have followed all the instructions on the MBC website without any mayor improvments.
I would say I have a very good practical understanding of how affiliate network work as I am a member of several networks (eg. Commission Junction).
hi steve,
i have a store request, is it possible to get money back from www.skincarestore.com.au or it’s US counterpart?
cheers B
— double checked and guess what? you have it!

Hey Steve,
I made an enquiry through the MoneyBackCo website, but I think I read that I have to wait for two months for a response regarding a particular transaction. Is that correct? It just seems to me that a two month wait is rather long.
