Sherlock is a British television crime drama that presents a contemporary update of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes detective stories. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Holmes and Martin Freeman as Doctor John Watson. Six episodes, broadcast since 2010, have been produced, with three more episodes scheduled to begin production in early 2013. The series has been sold to over 180 territories.

Went on iTunes to find content. Found that Sherlock the new TV series is on iTunes and the first episode of the first series "A Study in Pink" is on for free. In HD. Don't know when it ends.

For Sherlock fans - looks like the series 1 + 2 blu-ray set is less than half price at Zavvi at £13.95 - only £1 more than buying series 2 by itself at £12.95.

Watched this BBC series a few months ago, and thought it was really clever and immensely entertaining. It was co-created by Steven Moffat, whom Dr Who fans will know as a writer of the Dr Who series.
