  • Thanks OP :)

Let's hope it doesn't end up like Fallout 4.

    • -7

Why? I'd rather $10 than owning Limbo. Hell, I'd rather $2 than having Limbo in my Xbox library.

      • I mean revoked.

I would prefer $10 as well, but they won't be giving that kind of money for a game that costs just a bit more.

      • +14

Well you'd be in the minority, it's an absolutely fantastic game.

Everyone else - if you haven't played Limbo, I highly recommend playing it.
        88/100 on Metacritic http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/limbo

        • It's brilliant! Surprisingly creepy little game.

        • True that. I completed on xbox360 last year and absolutely loved it.

    • Here's hoping. They have given it out for free in the past for some promo though, I can't remember what for exactly…might have been the Lives 10 year anniversary, the Ones first year anniversary or whatever.

I got the Xbox One copy free in any event, although I had also purchased the 360 release back in the day. Beautiful game though.

Bought even I don't have a XBOX ONE.

that is the true spirit of ozbargain

      • +1

Ha Ha .. may be one day I will buy one when there is a crazy XBox One deal.

bigW coming thursday sale xbox one $299 only

buy bigW prepaid gift cards at 8% off. search ozbargain for this deal :)

  • Thought they had fixed it, didn't see the sign in part :P hopefully we get 10$ credit like fallout

  • Absolutely loved this game when they had it in the humble bundle. It was incredibly fresh and atmospheric back then, although there have been a lot of similar puzzle platformers since.

    • I love this game also.. What other similar games are there you'd recommend?

      • +2

Braid was another great platformer that was in the same humble bundle, bit harder to get your tongue around tho. Journey on PS3 is superb. Brothers on xbla is another great puzzle 3d platformer with a good storyline. The Abe's exodus and oddysee games are old but good. Fez wasn't quite what I hoped but still good.

I don't know if it's technically an 'indie' game, but I really love Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack…just a pure fun puzzler! This game & Trials Fusion got my wife's cousin banned from our house, I suspect that we were having too much fun & laughing too much…the grinch pulled the pin on our gaming sessions! :'(

Ori and the Blind Forest, Child of Light & Submerged all look very promising too, but I haven't had a chance to try them out yet! :)

  • Played this on PC. It's a beautiful game, highly recommend it.

Although it does say it's a "trial". Not sure what they mean by that.

    • +1

You have to log in first, then it will be free.

  • I don't think this is an error like Fallout 4. Firstly because it's not a $100 game, and secondly because they have set a date for the current price of $0 to expire (in 8 days).

I hope you're all ready for the usual dimwitted PC master race squad to come in here carrying on over the word 'free' in the title…

  • thanks op!
now i just have to wait for my xbox to finish updating

  • Got mine, thanks Op

  • -8

    it's just a demo though…

    • +8

There is a trial, and the option to buy. Sign-in to see the buy price as free.

Only something a vlaka would say! :P

        • +1

Nope, I reckon you guys must have not been signed in &/or clicked on the wrong one of the two available links as OLB said; I can assure you that mine shows up as: Already purchased: 13/06/2016 just like all of my other games, no mention of trial, demo or use-by-date.

        • @xdreamyst: No problem.

In your defence, it's no secret that XBL has been a little bit glitchy lately (cough<Fallout 4>cough), so it's entirely possible that the problem wasn't a loose nut on the keyboard in this case! :)

Gold not required. My gold had run out about a month ago and I was still able to get this for free. Just pointing this out as sometimes xbox offers are for gold members only.

  • Thanks for sharing.

Already own the 360 version so good to know I'll have it when I updated my console. Enjoyable game but not enough to warrant another purchase. Especially when it's essentially the game and could've been backwards compatible.

    • Yeah, got it on 360 too, and it could have been backwards compatible like super meat boy, but it came out on X1 back in 2014 before backwards compatibility was a thing. 1000 gamerscore though, which is nice, considering it's not a long game. Don't think I can be bothered getting the 'No Point in Dying' achievement again though..

      • I died plenty of times before reaching the end. I remember almost feeling guilty for killing the little guy in some many horrendous ways.

I just wish there a way to upgrade those smaller digital games (not retail releases) to the Xbox One from the 360. Similar to the way Nintendo allows Wii owners to upgrade their digital games to the Wii U at a fraction of the cost. Microsoft are onto something good with backwards compatibility but hope it evolves to something even better over time.

        • minecraft did it for the xbox 360 > one

        • @Apple96: There's also stuff like Guacamelee and the sort, but it's the exception, not the rule.

  • +1

Just started it up on my xbox, says its a trial

EDIT: You can 'buy it' but at the moment it doesn't seem to be actually buying the full game.
Edit 2: So you probably will have to 'purchase' the full on the actual console. To be sure you do have the full version in the game pause it, and if it says 'unlock full game' you just have to re-buy it.

    • are you sure you bought the game (lower button with price crossed out) vs clicked on 'try for free'??

      • yes, i know the difference

  • Purchased it for $0 on the console. Seems fine.
    thanks :)

  • Awesome, thanks!!

  • Thanks got it:)

  • Thanks, I bought it anyway. Probably I will buy a Xbox one Slim

Although I already got it on Steam

  • +1

I don't own an Xbox One, but 20 years from now if I find one on the side of the road, I'll at least have a game to play on it, cheers OP!

    • I like to know how to buy without xbox one. Obviously I don't have the console, hence the question.

      • +1

a Microsoft account lets you buy stuff on xbox.com. I had a paid Xbox Live subscription for months before actually owning an xbox one, and was buying free games fine during that time.

  • +3

Tekken Tag Tournament2 is free too as well. I almost bought it yesterday for $25.99 but changed my mind at last minute and today cant wait to finish work and sit and stare at 7.7gb download.

    • I think this shall need the gold membership.

    • I don't have gold I didn't see it free.

  • Announced at e3 this is free. ☺

  • Got it on my PS4 while it was free as well. Can confirm it's a great game.

  • dang I only have a 360.
