Seasons greetings fellow Ozbargainers.
These TV's were cheaper last month but these are currently the cheapest prices ATM.
I've been tossing up between these two TV's but alas my credit card won't arrive in time, looks like I'll be waiting till the next eBay sale, the end of financial year or when it comes time to clear these for the 2019 models.
Hope someone finds this useful, cheers.

Can any owners comment on the P7 series sports performance? Read a few comments on grass looking like a green waterfall. Was thinking about upgrading the trusty old 50” pana plasma but don’t want to go backwards in PQ either.

    • I turned stuff like sharpness off and some other things and it’s fine. The set does have some motion trails, but that’s my biggest gripe with it.

      • Thanks. Have you used it for any gaming with an Xbox one x or ps4 pro?

        • +1

Yep. That’s where I noticed some trails but not enough to care. Like when moving around the map in Forza.

Surprisingly even image with little noticeable dirty screen effect. In fact it’s way better than my Sony in that regard.

The sharpness annoyed me at the start because it would make some scenery change a second after the camera was still as it was processing the image. Turned it to zero and it fixed the problem.

10/10 do not regret the purchase.

          • @cnut: Have you changed the Picture Mode to Game Mode? Motion trails is usually caused by the TV motion interpolation/smoothing which Game Mode should turn off.

Turn off Judder Reduction, Blur Reduction, Noise Reduction, Ultra Smooth Motion.

            • +1

@Agret: Yep, game mode is on. I think it just doesn’t have the best refresh rate around.

    • Yeah I have a very old 50" Pana and im not convinced that, unless I spend a fortune, that ill end up with a better experience. Tempted to run it until it dies. Decisions decisions. Is a Sony 8500 series a better option?

      • +2

A fortune? How much is that? Surely your 50" Plasma cost 2 grand or more back in the day?

      • You will want to get an OLED panel if moving from a plasma, the blacks on LCD will drive you mad.

      • Upgraded from 50" pana plasma to the 65p7.huge size difference, 4k is amazing and just a really nice cheap upgrade overall. Far thinner, less power used, laundry list of reasons to pull the trigger

    • Is that a pana ST60 plasma?

      • +1

I got 50ST60 and still going strong. Love the picture quality. Thinking about getting one of this 65" but don't need it……

        • +1

I got the same Pana 50ST60. I mostly watch free to air TV and the picture quality is just superb. Better dark scene performance than most edge lit TV's of today. (Of course Full array and OLEDs would be better though)

Plus I have a huge cache of 3D movies and since new TV's don't have 3D, I'll hold on to it until it dies.

Same, waiting for my Panasonic 50" Plasma to die but it keeps going on strong. Love the picture quality.

  • Great price for a good TV. Got it for $1,200 when HN has the deal, and besides some kinks which you expect for that price point, it’s excellent.

    • Spewing I didnt pick up at hn

        Grab one now. 😄

Is the 75P7 worth the extra $200 over the Samsung Series 7 NU7100?

    • Reviews seem better on the 75P7

  • Has anyone successfully done a price match - could you kindly pm the receipt?

  • +3

got Good guys to price match a 65p7 for me to videopro with the ebay discount at 1390, collected last night :)

    • Hi, can you kindly pm/post the receipt?
Wanna try pm as well, thx!

      • Sorry! Didnt see this, you manage to get it?

  • Great picture for the price, GUI improved substantially from older Hisense models. Personally I'm having issues with my Yamaha soundbar (recently bought) and the ARC connection.
