The Gogogate 2 is a smart garage door opener that is compatible with garage doors or gates and doesn’t affect the normal functionality of your existing garage door opener. By using either a Gogogate 2 wireless or wired sensor, you can control up to 3 different garage doors or gates. The Gogogate 2 is intended to be a DIY device to install in your home, so there are no special skills required to set it up. Whenever the Gogogate 2 is used remotely it will warn users and people around both a triple LED light alarm that flashes intermittently 5 seconds before the garage door is closed and also an audible alarm. You can connect the Gogogate 2 to your home WiFi network or through wired Ethernet and in the event that your home network goes down, the Gogogate 2 will generate its own wireless network so users at home can still access the device. Gogogate has designed a single, intuitive and elegant app for you to use with the Gogogate system, allowing you to open your garage door with an iPhone, Android Smartphone or any web browser. With the app you can also receive smart alerts when the garage door is open, closed or be reminded when you’ve left the door open.

    Cheaper on your ebay page

    Code PROUD for 10% off = $134.10

Or regular 5% off ebay code.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Gogogate2-Complete-Kit-For-A-Gar…

    • A negative vote for a starting point of 29% off - tough audience :) See our next comment and also cheaper with CashRewards rebate for users of that plug in.

Revoked neg because the price was $215, however the deal posted is not the best price on this item.

        • Thank you - still a top deal but as you pointed out - eBay / Amazon / Catch.Com.Au - Same base price applies of $149 with any other discount codes or plug ins that consumers might have - brings the price down even more. Thanks for pointing it out! We love OzBargain customers and we welcome your custom and comments!

  • Yes, we also have it listed on our eBay, Amazon or Catch.Com.Au sales channels so you can use all the usual respective discount codes that may apply on those channels from time to time.

Why not post the ebay deal then? $134.10 is a lot better than $149.

      • We have now :)

Was very impressed until I realised there is no motor in this.
You still need a regular opener, and this is just a controller, not an opener? right?

    • Agree. When I saw the words "Complete Kit For A Garage Door" I also thought it physically opens the garage door.

  • Yes, the GoGoGate connects to your Garage Door or Gate motor. It has two wires that connect into the motor and from that point on you can control your door or gate from your smartphone from anywhere in the world. Great to let family, friends, kids or couriers into your Garage or property. But yes, your door or gate needs to be motorised first. At $149, if it included a Garage Door motor it would truly be the bargain of the century! :)

  • Does this integrate with Google Home/Alexa/IFTTT/Home kit etc?

  • Yes it does, I use one myself and a simple verbal command of "Okay Google Open Garage Door" does exactly that. It doesn't have native Homekit support but IFFT integration makes it totally configurable to suit your requirements.

  • Should I be wary of buying this with the upcoming release of the ismartgate (https://ismartgate.com) models?

If you are buying this to close the garage when you leave and open it when you arrive home via location using IFTTT it may not work at all.

The IFTTT location applet states "Usually runs within an hour" so when you leave home your door may be left open an hour with nobody home and when arriving home you could be sitting in your driveway for up to an hour waiting for your door to open if you rely on IFTTT.

This is the whole reason i bought it and so far its been useless.

Edit: Also my Gogogate had been opened with greasy fingerprints all over the internal box.

  • Interested in getting one, but unsure of the compatibility with my garage door. It's about 17 years old and near as I can tell is a Boss RD1 (Steel-line).

Stupid system, $140 dollars for a wifi controller. I'm happy with regular remote door opener.

    • +1

If it worked as advertised and automatically closed the door when you left home, and opened it as you arrived home it would be worth it but that doesn't work.

So for me the only good it does is shut the door at a specific time if I've accidentally left it open, and for the maybe one time a year that happens no it's definitely not worth the $200 i paid.

      • You can set it up to do that via ITTT - I see your comment above but I've had the gogogate installed for well over a year with geofencing set up in IFTT without any noticeable delays (unless the internet is down on either my phone or at home…. In which case I just use the physical remote when it hasn't worked)

        • I wish mine worked, maybe you are on iOS and not Android? The IFTTT applet says it runs within an hour https://i.imgur.com/2y3ceOj.png and there's no way to force it to run any faster. An applet based on location that takes up to an hour to fire may is pretty pointless imho.

The only time mine has worked is when i called in at my neighbours and 45 minutes later i get a notification my door has opened because i was within the geofence but had not opened the door manually.

          • @LowRange: Nope I'm on an Android phone. Maybe it's something to do with your location services? Have you set up voice commands and do they work within a reasonable time frame?

            • @boopaloop: Yes it's something related to location services because everything else works. I can open/close Gogogate via the app, view Ring camera, operate aircons/tv's etc with Broadlink and lights with Hue from home when connected to wifi and when away and connected to mobile network.

I didn't connect Gogogate to voice as i didn't want people yelling "Alexa, open the garage" through a window but im sure it would work since all other devices work via voice.

On the phone i've made sure location accuracy is set to high and ifttt/Gogogate don't get put to sleep but it still takes up to an hour for the location trigger to fire. The applet to close the garage every day at 9pm works instantly, and the applet says it runs within seconds. Google maps etc shows my location precisely.

Does your location applet say it may take up to an hour?

              • @LowRange: Yes, the applet says it can take up to an hour! Sucks it doesn't work for you :(

                • @boopaloop: Thanks yes definitely sucks as it was the only reason i bought the gogogate, i see distoria85 commented below having the same problems.

  • I have a gogogate set up connected to both my house garage door and front gate on the street (soldered the connection from gogogate into a gate remote rather than straight into the gate motor on the street). Works great and I love that I can give others an account to access the house without a physical set of keys and be able to monitor when they actually open and close the doors. Can also set it up so there are block out periods where their account doesn't work (to make sure the cleaner isn't going to come back and do a really really really good clean). Need to get the ring door bell set up so I can let the mail man in while I'm at work. Lots of ways to use this device, but it does require some set up to get things integrated well.

  • Purchased this for it to automatically open as I get close to my house. Ifttt fails to do this reliably. Sometimes I'd have arrived home for half hour and then it would run and open the gate. Quite frustrating. Been meaning to try stringify location with the ifttt integration to see if that triggers the location services better

    • Yes as mentioned in my posts above i have exactly the same problem. If i do a trip to the shops i can go out, get home (having to manually open then close the door) and suddenly the door will open because it only just fired from when i left home 40 minutes prior. If i dont hear it happen, the door can be open all day.

It works so poorly I've disabled it, i spent countless hours trying to get it to work.

  • Hey Rep,
I’m interested in the Ultimate Kit, but what does “1 YEAR FREE VIDEO PLUGIN INCLUDED!” mean? After 1 year the camera becomes useless?
