Update 1: Reading the comments from recent Appliance Central deals it seems they may have issues with their postage calculator. Have messaged them on eBay will let you know the result.

Update 2: They got back to me and said although they have different shipping zones it didn't sound right. They wanted to know if I was comparing shipping charges from metro to regional, which I replied by saying I wasn't. So once again will have to wait for their reply.

    This or P7 :D

    • +1

      This is P7………..

      • I’m being sarcastic

        • aaahhhh….. missed that

  • Does anyone know how well the local dimming works. Does it mean that it has minimum black light bleed.

    • +1

The P7 has edge-lit local dimming, this article explains what local dimming does https://www.rtings.com/tv/tests/picture-quality/local-dimmin…

Backlight bleed is a problem with the panel and lighting where light comes through around the edges when it's not supposed to. Blooming is when parts of the screen are lit up around a certain object because the local dimming feature can't control the lighting enough as it doesn't have enough zones. It's been said this TV only has 16 zones for the whole panel. Because the brightness isn't that much you shouldn't see extreme blooming but also means HDR effect won't be that great.
For normal viewing it's a great picture but in a very dark room watching content in dark scenes, it's not that good. If you want better blacks you have to spend at minimum $1500 more for the same size. This is easily the best mid range TV (NU8000 is better but seems to be sold out in most places)

      • Thanks for the info.
Which 65" is around $1500 with FALD?

        • I said you'd have to spend $1500 more than this TV to get better quality like FALD. There's only Sony X9000F / X9500G, Hisense P9 or Samsung Q70R and up. LG and Panasonic do have FALD for their flagship LED's but its IPS panel which is trash for blacks anyway, so pointless to have it.

  • Just a heads up - Price has been raised on shipping from these guys - was $55 yesterday for Doweyys 65" deal to now $125… This deal is also $125 for me for shipping

    • +1

Showing $55 for me, Melbourne metro.

      • Yeah it's only going to be some people - mine is $125 which is pretty steep… $55 yesterday I could handle

        • Yes, quite a difference. Where are you getting it delivered?

  • I'm torn between 65" and 75", different brands

This looks the goods, but this Samsung is tempting also and seems good value.

Can anyone convince me either way?

  • Hello guys, hows the 55p4 & 55p6 version Tv's of Hisense? theres currently deal with same seller on these two TV's too & would like to know hows the feedback & experience if anyone owns any of these two?

  • Anybody have experience with appliance central. I tried to go to their website buy my antivirus blocked me from their website saying they have trojans -_-. Do manufacturers honor warranties with tvs bought from appliance central? I did ask samsung once but they were evasive and did not give me a clear answer
