For that price shouldn’t be getting 3 speed internal… aim for at least 8

    • What do you mean for that price? Are you saying that a price of $798 means that 8 gears should be present across all brands worldwide?

Firstly, you are on a bargain site. This bike does not give you anything good for the price.
I own an Avanti inc 3 which I bought new for 1000 it had hydraulic disk breaks/carbon belt-drive/Alfine 11 internal hubs with fully integrated mudguards.
What does this bike give you? Not a lot more than a $450 Reid 3 speed internal hub…

Secondly, Lekker does not have the same quality as some premium brands such as Trek in my experience. I've owned a lekker before, around the 1000 price range with a carbon belt drive. It broke in the first month with its non-quick release back wheel sliding out when braking hard down a hill, nearly costing my life. (before I left the shop I specifically asked them to check whether everything is tightened correctly to the right torque)

        • Wouldn't mind that Avanti. I had an Avanti Aggressor man bike purchased 7 or so years ago…frame cracked. Warranty wording was…ambiguous…but I took it to the bike shop for assessment anyway - even with the bike 6 years old. After some weeks I walked out with everything swapped over to a brand new CF frame, and no cost to me.

Certainly Avanti is a better option than a Lekker I'd say, and their belt drive bikes look very nice. I think I'd like one in the future.

I'm now after a Dutch style cycle for my wife, but with at least 7 speed internal hub and preferably belt drive - very hard to find, but have already passed by these Lekker bikes since they don't seem to offer anything other than 3-speed. Unlike the Dutch, we have hills where I live. Will likely have to settle for a more modern frame without so low a step through.

      • Very poor specs for the price. 15kg is what you expect from a K-mart bike with racks. But at least you will not be walking the k-mart bike up every hill.

3 gears might be ok in the Netherlands, which is flat and rarely windy.

  • Only the women's is on sale? Men's RRP is $998. Does anyone have any experience or opinion on Lekker? Oddly youtube vids are non-existent.

  • Want some advice, Looking for a ebike as transport locally, would you pay $2400 for that ebike?

  • i thought it's an e-bike

      No. Its a douche bike.

  • Impressive SEO/ targeted advertisement, open this link yesterday night and this morning between videos on Facebook a video AD shows up and I’m using a VPN 🤯 https://ibb.co/R0FtDGZ

  • I’ve never owned a Lekker but they do make good quality, reliable bikes. Their resale value is on the higher end and you’ll find that they go very quick on marketplace and gumtree.

  • 3 is all you need in Holland.

  • 10+% off is near ubiquitous in bike shops, I would think…

    • Cant speak for 'Dutch' style commuter bikes like this but high end road bikes are in such short supply that many shops simply aren't discounting anymore. I was literally in the LBS when a friend walked in and tried to order a new Trek Emonda and they gave him a delivery date nearly a year away, he just walked out of the shop.
