  • no way!! didn't these used to be like 1000 bucks?

The list prices for this ad last 3 months were $728 to $899, so yeah a big price drop…

    • It was $700-800 like 3 years ago with lens

But mark one has battery capacity issue

  • full frame as well!!

Damn 2014??? I remember opening my one on day 1 of release. Good times indeed.

I’d be wary of Sony seconds for anything though tbh

    • I have purchased Sony Seconds camera before and happy with it. Everything in the box looked as new. Shutter count ~1000. Oh yeah, it worked fine too.

      • Fair.

But the ones that do have issues seem to REALLY have dramas.

        • I picked up some headphones and can't really fault them, everything looked as new, if it wasn't for the factory seconds sticker I wouldn't have known.

Come to think of it I do have one issue with them, occasionally the Bluetooth drops out, it's rare but if you are on a call at the time it's a pain, although usually reconnects after 10s on its own. Not sure if anyone else has that with xm3s, and it could always be the PC potentially

Fantastic value for anyone who is just interested in stills. Good way to start into the best eco system out there!

A7 is how I get into full frame on a budget. Paired with some vintage lens and affordable manual lens, you can get stunning results out of it

  • Does it have a lense?

  • Wow! I'm still holding onto this as a second body (which is still very good AND noticeably lighter than newer bodies).

By the way I sold my other A7 for $700 (3 months ago) so this price is crazy low.

  • Bought this back in December in the last deal and was pleasantly surprised the copy I got had only 5 on the shutter count and looked literally brand new even if it was "Seconds". Highly recommend at this price.

Is this like just some damage stuff or just other ppl have used and returned?

Wow awesome price! I'm using mine as a webcam via a cheap HDMI capture card. Paired with a vintax Pentax 50mm manual focus lens it's awesome! Got mine back in 2014 I think? Well it was a long time ago.

    • Which capture card do you use?

      • Something cheap from Amazon. Was about $16

  • I’d totally get this if it weren’t for the fact I almost never remember to carry anything other than my phone when I go anywhere

This is one of those things which seem good in theory but you’d be much happier if you just spent a little bit more

    This is a dinosaur now

If you want cheap - there’s lots of second hand a7rii on the market. I previously bought one for 1200 with 4 batteries (you’ll need them…) and a grip
If you want cheap and new get an a6xxx series and wait for cashback/Amex offer

The idea is if you are on a budget to try full frame, spend as much money as you can afford on a good lens. Buy the cheaper A7 body and experiment the techniques. A good lens does not depreciate as much and you can get good pictures, it is still usable when you can afford to upgrade to a newer A7 model in the future.
I would not recommend doing the reverse (spend most of your budget on the camera then get a cheap lens).

      • what if my limit is $500 ?

  • I bought one (refurb) from Sony about 2 years ago with 28-70mm Lens for $760 odd… Was like new and had a shutter count of 35… Sold it for $100 more than what I paid for it 6 months later.

  • RIP, OOS. just as well else I would be in trouble by having a 3rd camera in the house :D

  • What would a good lens be if astrophotography for this..a lens that is relatively cheap lol

  • Thanks! Now to just wait for a lens deal…
    A Zeiss 24-70mm would be nice…

  • They also have the Sony ILCE6000LB (Seconds^) Alpha 6000 Camera (Black) with 16-50mm Lens for $541.54

While it's not a bad camera, the first gen a7 was plagued with issues. A7ii and a7iii made massive improvements.

This is a used refurbished product. Please state that on your title.

    • It is in the title.
