  • Thanks OP

bought, cheers, its $49 at woolies!! and so bloody heavy so its good to get delivered, I love Prime!!!!

    • +4

That's through a "market partner", only available online. I wish woolies would remove those, they're trash prices, only available online and are delivered separately to groceries (I ordered something through there once, took a month to arrive).

24L bag is $18 and I generally prefer those as they have a handle on it to help pour. Although at the same price I won't turn down the 30L.

    • Although the box is often torn already by the time it arrives at my doorstep 😂

    • It’s $24.99 at petbarn

  • +2

Just FYI don't get into the habit of flushing this litter

    • +11

No litter should be flushed unless it’s flushable (you would think that’s common sense).

      • +2

^^This.. someone told me I could flush this stuff because it was “paper based” (not the whole litter tray but whatever was picked up with the poop spade) it eventually ended up blocking our sewer pipe outside. Expensive lesson learned :/

        • +2

          No way
In the bin, paper bag or the composed plastic bag

        • +1

Agreed, this stuff blocked the toilet and had to get a plumber out with an electric eel to clear it. Lesson learnt!

    • do you just bin it after every time they litter or do you empty the whole thing once a week?

      • +7

Scoop out the used bits/poop every time it's used, empty the whole thing weekly and replace it. My cat would shit on the floor if I didn't clean it for a week though.

        • +1

okay so you scoop and go straight to your bin outside or do you have one inside?

          • +2

@xtommyk: Bucket with plastic liner in garage. Tie up and place in bin when full.

            • +1

@Frankly Frankie: We have a council green bin which is for compost but I put this kitty litter in it as it’ll compost.

              • +1

@GeneralSkunk: You should check that with your council.
I don't see any that say put it in the green bin, they all say the red waste bin - even mine (Kingston), which allows food waste, explicitly says no.
Some suggest using your own in-ground composting system but seems expensive https://www.compostcommunity.com.au/pet-poo.html
Short story: stop putting your cat turds in the council bin.

                • @Roddi: I have checked.

My council states that for the Food Organics Garden Organics (FOGO) bins (green) they accept compostable kitty litter, but not non-compostable kitty litter. The list is quite long what they take, it was a trial until last year then they made it permanent. I guess it’s different to your green bin system.

          • @xtommyk: I carry the kitty litter to the bathroom and use one of those scoops that allows the litter to filter through, it catches the poop and just flush it as normal. The pee parts scoop as it clumps and throw out. Replace it all once every 2 weeks, or more regularly depending on her use of it.

She won’t shit in it if there’s already shit in there and meows like nuts until we remove it lmao

            • @SlifSlif: Doesnt the litter stick to the poop?

              • @xtommyk: Nope. Good shake and it mostly comes off, flushing a few pellets from my experience doesn’t hurt 😅

    • +1

Why? What would it do if it is in small amounts.

The description has changed which is interesting because 6 months ago, it didn't say you could.

Not saying that I do, but sometimes a tiny amount might flick off the scoop.

    • Dont have a cat, but do you think this would work to absorb moisture like damp rid?

      • +1

No. It's very sense and even when exposed directly to liquid, it takes some time to soak in.

        • +1

Ahh bugger, ok thanks mate much appreciated.

  • Think it is going on special on Amazon Prime Day.

  • +1

My 2 Bangel Cats wish to say Thank you

    • +1

Why? Your cats manage the household finances?

      • +5

Yep they do , don't know about you , but my cats run my life lol

        • go away for a month, I come home to two orientals. Yup, these princesses rule the house and what food they get bought….mostly chicken breast

          • +1

@slipperypete: mine only like raw food or Aplaws ,and Aplaws alone is $40+ for 24 cans lol

  • Great price with Prime shipping, got a few bags to stock up til the next deal.

  • Not the best but my cat uses anything so no brainer! Thanks op!

  • Thanks OP, tried to buy five but it wouldn't let me buy more than three of them and now Amazon won't let me order any at all, gives me the following error message on the checkout screen:

"We're sorry. This item is not purchasable now. We suggest you to remove it."

Anybody else having a purchase limit enforced on them?

    • +1

Got 4, no issues. I have prime.

      • Thanks for confirming. I tried again now and it still won't let me purchase any more of them, so I guess it's something to do with my account (I have Prime too). Might try with other people's accounts and see what happens.

        • Just purchased 2 before seeing this message, it might help just contact them via live chat they generally fix stuff pretty quick

          • @ballingoutacontrol: Thanks for the suggestion. I just spoke to live chat and they said I can only order 5 units per week. I had already ordered two before this sale started, so that makes sense. They said try again next week :p

  • Prime exclusive?

  • Thanks OP, that's a great deal! We already subscribe to this but never seen it at this price before.

  • Mine didn't turn up, Amazon said it was signed for, contacted seller who said it went to the wrong address. And I've got a bridge to sell you… They are sending "another" one apparently.

    • Similar thing happened to me, except the seller took off Amazon marketplace, dodgy af. Eventually Amazon refund my money but yeah, it was a hassle cause I had to buy a smaller (lot more expensive bag) at Woolworth

  • Same experience said I'd signed for it but it was never delivered and no POD so Amazon refunded me

  • Ohhhh my postie is going to hate me… I mean even more since that last coke 36pack sale..

  • Hi OP, just wondering if you know why Aldi doesn't sell cat litter anymore

    • No idea sorry, I was just at Aldi for the first time in a while and noticed several products missing. I used to buy honey wheats cereal for my partner and looks like they have stopped selling that as well.

    • Mine still does… I think there's just a shortage of various items at a lot of stores. My local aldi hasn't had tissues for ages, and was fully out of all soft drink last time I went!

  • Got 3, thanks op

$25 for 20kg, and it's organic. Put it in the compost or garden when you're done https://www.petcircle.com.au/product/barastoc-golden-yolk/pb…

    • Huh. Interesting. Never heard of chook feed being used as litter, does it absorb well? Any issues attracting mice etc?

    • More than double the price, hand in your OzB licence.

      • +1

Well it depends tho, doesn't it? OP posted litter measured in liters, where the petcircle stuff is in kg. So could be a cheaper option depending. Hard to compare weight vs volume

        • Hmm density might be a little more in the golden yolk but still fair bit more $$ either way considering its for litter and not feed.

  • +2

I have these on regular order and when there are specials I cancel my standing order and make a new one at the cheaper price. Every little bit helps. Same goes for the cat food. usually I buy about 3-4 months cat food and litte in advance as it's much cheaper and home delivery is even nicer. If I don't clear the litte each day my cats just wont go near it :(

  • +1

Anyone has tips or tricks on how to prevent cats from pooping on your lawn?

    • train them to poop inside the house.

    • I understood that reference

  • Since it is on special at the moment, if you choose recurring order, will I still get the next lot for the same price?

    • Price is not locked in.

  • So I just buy these through S+S and then cancel immediately? Or do I have to wait until next month to cancel?

  • +1

Another week of picking 100s of these .. :(
I feel like 5% of items that leave our warehouse is kitty litter

    • Sorry fren, think of all the kittys you're helping though!

  • I have found pieces of plastic (like balloons) in multiple bags of this stuff. Doesn't seem like it's very good

  • Not a big fan of this litter. It doesn't clump so its nearly impossible to get rid of the peed on litter
