Up to 40% off Market Lane and Atypical (eg. Candid Blend $35 for 1kg Delivered) @ Direct Coffee

480

Hey Folks,

Welcome to May! Hope everyone is having a good week :)

We've brought back a couple of favourites (Marimbus and Candid), while also adding some tasty single origins to the mix. Also, by popular demand we've added a deal on Atypical's decaf. Only 1kg bags to start, but if there's interest I'm sure we can add additional variants.

For the filter crew, you're going to really enjoy the Ethiopian coffee we have available from Halaka - this is smelling terrific and tastes pretty good too!!

As for espresso, the Joel Guzman is going to tick lots of boxes. Plenty of unique character black, but it won't cause offence to those who prefer to add milk.

One word on the decaf, it is roasted a touch darker than Atypical's other coffees so I'd only recommend this one for those drinking with milk.

Any questions, please sing out :)

Cheers,
Tim

Dispatch update

The trial of earlier dispatch on AXIL and Atypical products proved to be a real crowd pleaser and also worked pretty well on the back end.

As a result, any Atypical orders received by next Wednesday (05/06) will be dispatched the next day (06/06). From there, we will work to dispatch orders ASAP.

Hi, the Marimbus is showing as full price for me. Did I do something wrong?

P.S. There is no Wednesday 31st April, you had me going for a second :P

Discount applies at checkout - I'm seeing $48.

      • Ah right you are, thanks!

    • +1

My apologies! I’ll get the date corrected :)

      • Haha all good, cheers.

  • Cool I'll give the Candid a go.

    • Awesome :)

  • No Espresso grind option on the Joel Guzman?

    @directcoffee

    • Yep that’s a goof :( Let me get that fixed.

  • I'm torn between Honduras Joel Guzman and Brazil Marimbus. Any suggestion for flavour-wise?
Basically my workflow is either: magic or cold brew

    • +1

For a Magic, i think it comes down to a nice, simple but sweet flavour profile (Marimbus). Or, something with a few extra twists (Joel Guzman).

As for cold brew, my preference is normally a filter roast. However, I think the same principle applies here when comparing the two coffees you’ve mentioned.

      Hope that helps?

      Cheers,
      Tim

      • Tell me about the few extra twists for Joel Guzman that you mentioned?

        • +1

Fruit! Blackcurrant is primarily what we tasted :)

  • I'd love to give Atypical a go but I've only just started on another 1kg bag of beans. I'm assuming you don't do delayed dispatches for orders?

For Candid blend we’re developing a system and can certainly arrange it for you given this is a year round blend.

However, for the singles these are subject to availability so hard to forecast given unknown demand.

Feel free to send a message and I’ll see what we can do.

      Cheers,
      Tim

  • Which one would be a good match for Turkish-style coffee. Thanks

    • +1

I’d take the safe bet of starting with the Candid blend :)

  • As someone who generally gravitates towards the fruitier / lighter roasted coffees, do you think there's a clear winner out of the Ethiopia and the Honduras for predominantly espresso brewing?

    • If that's how you like your beans for espresso, I'd go for the Ethiopian :)

  • Is the Ethiopian roast suitable for milk based coffees e.g. lattes?

    • If you're seeking a latte that offers classic coffee flavours (ie. Choc, caramel etc.) that cut through milk I'd say no. However, there are plenty who do like lighter roasted coffees for espresso brewing.

  • Great deal on the filter roast, thanks.

    • Glad to hear it :)

  • Yum! Marimbus is back on the menu. Was super delish when I had it in Feb. Thanks Tim!

    • So glad to hear you enjoy it! If you want a constant supply we also have a nice discount on subs :)

  • Grabbed the filter. Great deal especially with express post included

    • Awesome!

  • any of these would be suitable for stovetop moka pot? we typically have as a latte - preference for sweeter, creamy blends! any recommendations?

    • Would steer you towards Candid or Marimbus :)

  • Hi, would you offer a similar deal on four different 250g cans? I’d love to be able to some different blends at once! Happy to let you know what I’d be after.
