In the last similar deal I tested buying $39 item *2 (0% category), both items base tracked as $0.35 each, which works out to be 0.0089% base cashback.
My assumption is, even 0% category actually has been made to be ~0.01% on the backend just for the sake of enabling them to be eligible and tracked when paid using relevant bank cards, but on the Shopback page is rounded to 0%.
I used 95% paid via GC and the rest via StG card.

    • How can you pay different amt (gift card and St George bank card) in Amazon. For me it's either one of the two.

Edit: Never mind, checked below comments.

    • "I used 95% paid via GC and the rest via StG card." - as long as there is a portion of the order paid with st George's card, the whole order will be eligible for the bonus cashback? Thanks.

      • +1

        Correct.

    thanks op

If your gift card balance in your Amazon account exceeds your purchase, there are no work arounds to just use a part of it and pay the rest with a card?
    …or are there?

    • +4

There is, but a bit of a hassle IMO.
eg. You wanted to buy a $50 item but your balance is $59:
      1. Buy any item which is makes your balance just under the purchase value of your wanted item ($10 or more item will make your GC $49 or below)
      2. Buy your actual wanted item with GC+Bank
      3. Quickly cancel before the mock item get shipped out.

So doable, just needs abit of work around.

      • +1

Sounds good, certainly a solution, but I am guessing that would knockout the cashback?

        • Why would that knockout the cashback? You mean Of your actual wanted item?

          • +3

@noelhoi: I think he misunderstood to buy the mock item in the same transaction as real one in order to spend more than GC balance, and cancelling the mock part might void the whole cashback.
Presumably the hack is mock purchase first ad separate transaction, with nothing to do with cashback

      • +2

Note that this didn't work out for me the last time I tried, by the time my item shipped Amazon changed the payment method and took the entire amount out of my GC balance.

        • +1

Oh wow…that certainly sux. so do you propose we should wait til actual wanted item’s order finalised before cancelling mock order?
Is there any foolproof real solution to this issue?

          • @noelhoi: I have taken to just keeping a low balance, putting aside GCs instead of immediately redeeming them. The downside to this is potentially missing deals that sell out very quickly.

I don't want to deal with returns, so waiting for the real order to post and hoping the fake one wouldn't post first was a no-go for me.

          • @noelhoi:

            finalised before cancelling mock order

Do not cancel the mock order until your actual order ships and you see the charge on your StG/BoM/BSA/WP card first.

            • @DoctorCalculon: Yeah that would be ideal, but what if the mock order gets processed/shupped first before the actual StG order is charged? I think that’s @Hiphopopotamus ‘s point, about cbf with returns.

              • +2

@noelhoi: Place the mock order for something that's out of stock/waiting to be restocked. Unlikely to be fulfilled before your actual, instock order ships.

      • New info:
This guy https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15234493/redir was saying that Shopback have changed their policy and now do not accept giftcards at Amazon

  • Where do I link the banksa card?

Is this for all categories ?

  • Shopback is scheduled to do a flash sale for myer from 6pm at 15% off, is it wishful thinking that these bank bonuses stack on top? So you get the 15% off standard flash sale plus the westpac group bank bonus of 15% off?

    • +2

I believe that's usually the case where the bank bonuses go the whole day and the ShopBack bonus is for selected times only. I've combined bonuses for many including myer, ebay, pizza hut.

    • They stack. I just got a 10%+10% cashback from eBay st George a couple days ago.

    • Can I use my Myer Reward cards (like the $10 one that Myer sent me on my birthday) and still get cashback?
      Thanks

      • I believe no, because those kinda vouchers use unique codes. That will usually invalidate cashback.

    • Anyone get their Myer purchase to track? Still nothing showing in my account from a 10 pm order.

  • Dan’s is still cheaper for most items and no waiting for cash back. A few in the sale section can be considered a win. Missing the old days

    • I miss the days of the Groupon Boozebud hack!

No westpac? Is it just me or shopback doesnt have as much deals with westpac anymore?

    • Real.

    • +1

Have noticed it too. Also when there are deals they aren't as good oftentimes.

Not complaining as spending a lot less these days 😇

    • +2

They seem to have moved on and are putting all the emphasis on the sub brands now,

      • +2

It’s solid BS. They’ve used ShopBack to drive up westpac card applications, now they’re discarding all of us, and trying to force users into all of westpacs sub brands. Boooo

  • +1

Dodgy how Westpac is now persona non grata after all the marketing

  • Cheers made a $57 order with BankSA card

  • Wonder if it works on S&S orders?

    • It should , these offers normally work on s & s orders as long as they are new

  • Has anyone seen tracking coming through for this promo? Nothing for my amazon purchase

    • My Amazon hasn’t tracked and it has nearly been 24 hours

      • @gotyourback, is this a known issue as well?

        • Hey there! Sorry about that. Missing Cashback as well as bank bonuses are no fun.

I can't fix it directly here in the comments, but our awesome customer service crew at [email protected] can definitely help! Shoot them an email and they'll get you sorted.

Just FYI, Amazon Cashback takes about 4 days to track after your purchase. If it doesn't show up by then, no worries! Just send us a missing cashback report and we'll get on it.

      • got my amazon tracked now at 10%. hope this doesn't get rejected like ebay one

    • Nothing from Myer as yet ordered 10pm yesterday.

      • Same, my purchase from Myer has not tracked yet

        • 3 of my transactions tracked this morning. Still waiting for 1 more. 1st, 2nd and last transactions tracked, but waiting for the 3rd transaction which is a bit weird.

          • @cynical17: How long did it take to track? I am at 36 hours since my purchase…

            • +1

@zakarados: Mine was yesterday morning, about 10-12 hours after the transaction

              • @cynical17: Thx mate, I guess my one didn't track…. 15% + 15% lost…

                • @zakarados: Report the missing cashback. If that fails, then return the item. Recently nothing is guaranteed with Shopback. I've noticed at least a handful of past ebay transactions being rejected

  • Amazon tracking just came through

  • FYI

ALL of my St. George bonus have changed to rejected…………………….
