Tempted just to get a set just to roll it into a remote controlled security light haha

  • Dose anyone know its power requirements? How much amps @ 12v?

    • My estimate about 3 amps each

      • Probably closer to 1 amp

    • +1

specs say 30W per unit….which would make it 5 amps for the pair running nominal 12v.

Didn't get approval by the missus. She said 6 inches is too small.

    • +6

Maybe you could buy these lights to cheer yourself up.

    • +1

it's not size, but how you use….

    • +2

I'd have concerns if 6 inch wide is too small…

      • Idk what you’re talking about bro, my wife swears 6 inches is huge…?

    • so still living the cuckold life then I see, EC?

    • Did mention they are a pair 2x6 =12

No wiring harness. When we bought a lightbar the wiring harness was more than the price of the lightbar itself.

    • Just use your own terminals? Or solder the wires together?

      • The wiring harness had about 5 cables to connect. It had a switch to mount in the cabin to turn it on and off, a relay, a wire to piggyback off the high beam as well as power.
You definitely could just hook up to 12v power but you want to be able to control it.

        • Hopefully you had a fuse in the wiring harness?

          • +1

@RedHab: Yep inline fuse holder between the positive cable from the battery to the light.
We actually never got it working even after swapping the wiring harness. Something annoying with the cars wiring I think.

  • Can these be wired directly into a 12v system with a switch from an auxilary battery? Any wiring harness or anything else needed?

List price is a bit of a joke though, these appear to be the same for a regular $10.95

I've had many sets of these but just be warned if using as a reversing light - they aren't very waterproof. Having it underneath you car will fill it with water from the road spray.
    Get what you pay for

    • Sounds like those cheap reverse cams. You have to use sealant to waterproof them properly before putting them on.
